Seat for 250lbs +
Putting more miles in on the track and the OEM Honda seats just aren't cutting it. I'm ready to pick up a 4 or 5 point and a sport seat... but the DC2 Recaros I have seem too small.
Looking for recommendations for a good aftermarket seat that would work with a guy my size (6', 260lbs).
Shipping to the island and taxes make new seat prices hurtful...but I have access to a slew of used JDM yard parts. Sparco, Bride, Recaro product floats about often... but need to know what a good model to start looking at would be.. that fit into an EG with a helmet on of course !
Any input would be helpful.

Re: Seat for 250lbs +
I am 6'8" and around 275 lbs., the only seat that I found that would fit me is a Sparvo EVO III.
When I mounted it in my EG, using the regular brackets my helmet was touching the headliner. My solution was to cut out the factory mounting points and mount my seat right to the floor. But I am a good 8" taller, so that might not be an issue for you.

5'5 225lbs with a 40 inch waste... my seats that fit perfect were the OMP First-R and OMP WRC. the WRC comes in a wide too, but i was swimming in that.
the OMP First-R cleared the drivers side door but not the passenger side... i'm using PCI adjustable seat mounts also.

Re: Seat for 250lbs +
Ok, excellent insight here.
My waist size is 42. Will see if OMP is available in my location for a test sit. The car i'm running is left hand drive with door cards still installed so I have to measure seat width too. Will look around for a seating size comparo.
devilduck, what seating bracket did you use ?

Pegasus Auto Racing Supply in New Berlin, WI has a bunch of OMP seats in stock for test fitting. I don't know where you are located, but if you are near Milwaukee, they are just outside of the area. I go there to get fitted, and it's almost 3 hours for me.

Re: Seat for 250lbs +
The first time I installed my seat in the car I was using Sparco side mounts and a Sparco seat base. But I didn't like how high I was sitting so I removed the seat base and factory mounting points and mounted my seat right to the floor using the same side mounts. I do still have my door panels and they weren't an issue either way.

I'm a size 34 and the omp champ R is a snug fit. The Recaro SPG is also pretty snug. So you're probably going to want a wide version of any seat you get.

Re: Seat for 250lbs +
corbeau fx1 seat, comfortable for the long drives but not fia approved. i purchased one from solo racer for 400 shipped.
I also had the wide version which was to big. Had it installed in my integra and i had to remove the center console and the door panel. PCI seat brackets were the only ones i found to fit the seat without going custom and making my own. I wouldn't suggest getting the wide version.

GT Race and Driven have the same seat, Eric Kaul from Driving Impressions Home - TeamDI has said it fits us big boys quite well. Also $650ish shipped.
