TRS Seats are nice, but if you are taller the holes for the shoulder harness will be very low. The TRS XL is the nicest, bigger sized, budget seat I've sat in.

I'm 5'9-5'10. I believe they have some TSR seats at a place called Discovery Parts at Atlanta Motoraports Park. Next track event ill have to stop by the shop and test fit some. Also need to get some dimensions to see if they will fit in the car width wise.

What specifically do you want to do with the car? Time Trial, just HPDE/PDXs, possible head to head later? I am in Huntsville and have done a bunch of cages for road race cars. I have three EFs. The CRX was at TGPR friday, the turbo hatch will return shortly to Time Trial in the Southeast region, and the other will be some sort of head to head car. Maybe GT3, maybe just something fast for SPU.

If you want a roll bar, use a weld in, it can be stronger than bolt in, plus you can tie it into the Bpillars to help strengthen it for an impact. You can also get some minor chassis stiffening out of it, if done correctly. If you have any plans at all to ever run head to head or want a full cage, plan for it now. No sense in paying twice for a cage.

If you want to try out some track time, Tennessee Valley Region of the SCCA will putting on a time trial and PDX Sept 28-29th at TGPR. Come out and run the PDX in the car as it is now and get a feel for what you want to run in the future. Then during the offseason, you can do the cage and seat mods, then run the time trial school in April at TGPR and be ready to rock and roll next season.

I could go on all day about the cage stuff, so you might want to shoot me a PM.

This is an ITA CRX I built a year ago.

Right now, just HPDE's. I would love to race wheel to wheel to time trial, but I'm not sure I could make a financial commitment like that lol. I've gone TGPR a few times, love that track because the events are so cheap! I've done Roebling Road twice because it was close to me while I attended Georgia Southern. Now I'm in marietta, I plan on doing RA, AMP, and TGPR

Ill post some pics of my car later tonight. So you guys can get an idea of what I'm working with.

Has a build b20 nonvtec, crower 403's 11.1 compression. Just a cheap little fun car for the track.

Video from my 1st event at Roebling.

What trans are you running?

Looks like fun, I am planning on taking my 90 SI to CMP this November.

It's just a cable LS tranny. Biggest downfall of the car right there. I really want an LSD b16 tranny, but told myself I would upgrade the tires first. It pushes a little coming out of the turns, just doesn't have grip. So either tires, LSD, or sway bar(s) may help that. Considering I've been tracking with Dunlop Direzza DZ 101s, those HAVE to be upgraded anyways. Lol

Do rear sway bar, then find a B16 cable trans and install an LSD. AS for Tires, go to the Dunlop Z2 or Rival. Both of those are cheap enough and they have good performance for a non R-comp tire.

I'd say some of your exit push is from entry/mid-corner speed as well. As you get more experience, your "wants" on car balance will likely change pretty dramatically. Aside from the tires, I'll +1 on the rear bar. It'll help corner entry balance and put down power better on exit. I've got some time at Roebling and it's a tough track on FWD'ers... especially with an open diff. Going to a shorter geared tranny with an LSD will make a big improvement to the car but I'd go after the low hanging fruit initially (tires/bar).

Maybe I missed it but what sort of springs/shock package are you running currently?

Christian

PS
If you haven't, check out Seat-Time.com DE's at Roebling. Good format, track time, cheap, etc. I'm typically there instructing and would be happy to help with any track/setup questions.

The ZII's were exactly what I was looking at or the g-force revival. Love cheap tires in 15s!

Suspension is Koni yellows with top hats in the front. GC coils, I believe the spring rates are 550/650 or 500/600. I bought the car as a bare shell, only came with that suspension on DA front/rear brake setup. It's stiff, very very very little body roll if any.

Cool. That's a good baseline setup. If you don't have a rear bar (or just have a small one), I'd definitely go larger. ST has some pretty cheap solid options and then there's ASR's hollow bar as well.

ST may be an option in the near future! Just gotta see if they come with the brackets to mount it, as the DX doesn't have the same brackets that the Si with rear sway comes with

its worth checking to see if your chassis has the threaded nuts already welded to your chassis. so it might be a bolt on affair for a stock 15mm CRX Si rsb at least.

but youll probably want a ST anyway.

IIRC, the solid ST bar (7/8" maybe?) came with brackets to mount it to the chassis where the factory rear tow loops are/were and brackets to attach the end links to the lower shock bolt. It was pretty silly cheap from Summit as well. They're the first place I'd look...

Yes the ST bar mounts to the rear holes where the tow hooks are. Unless you have an early 88 model from Japan you shouldn't have any issues. Hit me up if you are interested in the ST bar. I ship stuff everyday.
