Re: Robin6's track car
Yeah, I got the times down to 2:06 today but with only two 20minute sessions.
Had brake issues and called it quits after 2 sessions. The 2:06 placed me in 3rd for the HFF challenge tho. I am happy.
The feel of the car is perfect.
Having the double adjustables is just awesome a true must have.
So before I go into details, see the pic below.
lol see anything wrong? I have a big off...big!

Congrats on the lap time, only a second off where you wanted it to be. You'll get that with better braking, much like my own lap times. Brakes are holding me up.

I'm really 2slow
Re: Robin6's track car
Wow!! hope everything else is gravy beside the bent up sideskirt. Was this due to the brakes? 4 seconds improvement is good.

Ah didn't notice the splitter damage. However that's the name of the game when it comes to them. Splitters are disposable items, which is why you want to keep them cheap.

Hey man nice meeting you yesterday. I'm Tanner. I had the faded silver Eibach hatchback with black bumper. Your car sounded super healthy out there.
Unfortunately my day ended around 9am. 3rd lap of the first session, i mis-shifted through the esses. I think i spun a bearing. even my crank pulley stripped and went right over my wood key. total bummer!
I'm still on the fence about rebuilding my block, or just sourcing a replacement to make it easier.

i think i caught it in time before it caused any serious damage. no rods thrown luckily. sounds like some bearings took a beating though. hopefully thats all.
see you next event.

Re: Robin6's track car
I agree 100% with the splitter being disposable...plywood worked fine and broke as it should. In this rare case digging into dirt going sideways it performed perfectly and did not aid in helping flip the car. [I love my roll cage ] The way the P1 slitter is made, softer aluminum on the brackets connecting to the splitter itself, allowed it to "give" instead of resisting which would have helped me flip over.
The same goes for the side skirts, it gave way and bent, not aiding in flipping.
The chassis brackets made of heavy steel did not bend at all...good design from Kiwi's team. Effective AND safe!

We pulled the splitter off, heated up the brackets and bent them back straight and were back on the track in 30 minutes.
Glad the car is working out, it looks amazing! Best of luck

Sorry we didnt get a chance to meet yesterday. I was in the red EG hatchback. I had a ton of issues and and the only full session that i was able to drive was the very last open session.
i was stuck working under the car all day and didnt have time to talk to anyone.

Hoping she'll prove to be more agile with the new setup, might have to try to get her out to Road America this year. It's still a possibility!

Re: Robin6's track car
Happy to help out buddy, anytime.
You are going to have a proper track car here soon so yes get to a track prior to winter at all costs to get some testing done. I was able to get mine setup over four 20 sessions last Saturday.
If you get out here you will have a hoot on some of these tracks. Just let me know and I will get you and your gal set up!

Re: Robin6's track car
Btw Kiwi you R awesome. I hope I don't have to order a replacement anytime soon :-P
Those brackets are EXTREMELY awesome and work very very well. They do have some lash/rattle hitting bumps at very low speeds but on the track i've never heard any clatter. (I have my own airdam tho so no fault of yours).
While I'm thinking about it... It would be cool to find some partially threaded bolts so that the splitter is not pulling on a sharp thread against the aluminum....possibly longer life? What size are those bolts? 1/2"-20? or M12?
