Anyone with 162608 posts has got to have God's attention in some way... or have a lot of time on their hands, lol. Seriously, I don't have enough track experience to know the difference, only that there's agreement that some sort of clutch-type diff is fastest on-track.

These things all work off throttle, right?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Torsens, not so much. If you're not applying torque with the motor, it's mostly open. I think they're generally 1-way diff's. 2-way diffs are equal under accel/decel and probably not appropriate for FWD.
Kaaz (and other 1.5-way diffs) "Generally ... creates a stronger lock under acceleration than deceleration."
The 1.5-way helps under braking for the non-ABS cars too.
Read here, take with a grain of salt...

Re: Quaife LSD
CLutch type is better for track. Even with one wheel completely off the ground (going over the apron for example) the other wheel will be pulling.

Re: Quaife LSD availability, and alternatives (kb58)
Anyone tried contacting Taylor race engineering in the States? Any luck at all? I emailed Quaife UK and no reply YET.

Re: Quaife LSD availability (98SpecR)
The domestic replacement for the Quaife, the Wavetrac, is out. What's irritating is that the sellers say "everyone says it's great", yet I haven't seen a single track report one way or the other. Just let the users speak for themselves - I hate Marketing BS

Hi, I'm a new member on the forum and am the "Quaife Guy" at Taylor Race Engineering. We have been building racing transmissions and drive trains since 1975 and are the Exclusive U.S. Quaife Distributor for Motorsports. In fact our Engineering Staff designed the Quaife Viper differential. We stock Quaife ATB differentials and transmissions at our shop in Plano (Dallas) TX. If you need anything, contact me. If I don't have it, I can get it for you.

Re: Quaife LSD availability (doug@taylor-race)
I tried to email you guys about getting a Quaife ATB LSD for my Honda Fit awhile ago but never get any reply back.

Re: (doug@taylor-race)
I'm looking for a ATB LSD for a Honda Fit sport 5MT. I emailed tons of places include King motorsports when they had the Quaife LSD "in stock" link on their site. Which they didn't really reply when I tried to get an update from them.
Anyway I emailed scotty@taylor race i think? But don't think I got any reply back. Got kinda frustrated on this........
