Just a FYI.......... Those of you who have cages or roll bars.
Please pad those things up.
Use rated padding instead of the cheap pipe insulation type.
Anywhere your body can hit the metal there should be padding.
Look all around you when seated. if you see a bar pad it.
I'd hate to find out your mellons, legs, ankles, etc didn't fare well after an impact, and no using a helmet isn't going to save you.
Pad them up guys.

Can't really read it to well from the picture. But my switch panel reads:
Inner/Outer (for the light pod)
Holla (horn)
Burn (start)
Rice (fuel)
Acc (accessories)

Yes. And his looks easy to open/close. Our chump car has the air scoop on the roof and it sucks when it starts raining. Got to finish the 2hour stint before we close it. But it beats this....
Fast forward to 2:30. Typical rain in FL

A short while ago, my future (at the time) hpde instructor called me and said he wouldn't even get in the car if there wasn;t homoligated padding covering anypart of the roll bar he could touch from his seat.

Most dont realize that even with a harness you can still hit bars on the roof, the sides, your ankles (Matt can attest to that)
Harnesses do stretch!
It doesnt even have to be an impact. It can be as simple as an off track experience and something is going to get broken.
That cheap pipe insulation type padding is no better than having a bare bar.
See how it compresses when you put a zip tie on it?
Imagine a good knock on it.... there is literally no protection.
Do it right guys.

Your instructor is wise.

Re: Post your road racing interior setups/pictures!
Well the yellow shifter setup is a project of mine to get a better hand setup for less time spent off the wheel. The shifter and rod had been extensively modified to work together. It has far less throw than your standard short throw and ny buddy likes the feel better than the flp unit. The shift throw from 1st to 2nd is about 3 inches. The only difference from your standard short throw is the pattern is wider than long due to the long lower portion of the lever. I love the feel of it you don't ever have to look down as its right in your line of sight and its a hand width away from the wheel in 1st. Here are a few pics of the modified unit only this different than the yellow one is the upper wasn't extended yet.

I do apologize for no rollbar padding. I have been building the car for the past few years and is finally coming together. The plan is full sfi spec padding everywhere you can touch.
