Default PBOC Night Enduro at Sebring

We took our chumpcar to the 6 hour event to shakedown the car and run the new Manual box (the Auto let go last season after 12 races!)

The field was probably 50% GT3 Cupcars, the rest was GT1, GP roadsters, Some World Challenge cars, and Spec Miatas. We were out gunned but had a lot of fun. For anybody wanting some endurance experience in the SouthEast, I recommend this event, a lot of fun and very fast traffic with good driving. I hope to take my H1 Car next year.

That looks fun... I've been looking for some longer enduros to run. The 1.5 hour format SCCA does is getting a little old... and not really even an enduro.

Another option is to run Daytona Memorial Day weekend with chumpcar. It will be a 14 hour. If you don't have a chumper you can run your car as exemption class.

yeah but then you have to deal with all those idiots that shouldn't be on the track to begin with...i will be happy when the chump car fad is over...just because you can build a shitty race car doesn't mean you should.

I wouldn't hold your breath. They are growing....and think they are getting people from SCCA and NASA. I think there is frustration from running in too small a field and often..too short a race. I watched NASA at homestead this month, there were 5 HC cars, 2 broke so 3 ended up running. Very little wheel to wheel activity. I actually expect to see another spin off... Maybe with more classes or shorter racing. It's pretty awesome when you find a matched driver/car and trade positions for 2 hours. We have run 12 races over 3 years and I think the cars and racing have only gotten better.

I totally agree there are plenty of folks that have no business racing, but I can tell you I would run my EG at Daytona with chump, its an intimidating place as you know and last year most just stayed put at the bottom of the banking. And last years winners were the guys that build Riley DP's for a living. Your in central Florida, have you seen the "flatoutracing" car? It runs like 2:33's at Sebring. Pretty strong for a crapcan.
