Default PA State Championship AutoX Aug 6th

Wow what an event. Everything yesterday was just perfect. I was super quick right out of the gates, and improved off that. My new alignment on the car is just incredible. I could not of been happier.

Unfortuneately I didn't get the overall title, but we did win the STS Championship. The course was soooo fast and really quick transitions.

Here's some video of my last 3 runs to chat over. Really great stuff. Recommend a save target as. I used a little higher quality encoding for this one.

What alignment settings are you running Adam?

I was gridded right next to you in the red Si. It was the third time I've ever driven the car and it handles like ***. I've got some wholesale changes in line for this coming weekend.

You did really well and showed me where I need to be (which was completely possible if my head wasn't stuck up my ***)

I'm checking out your video right now to see where you got me

Nick

quick edit: So our lines were basically exactly the same, you just made less mistakes than I did (god damn do the brakes suck on my car ) And you were able to car a hell of a lot more speed through the slalom (I'm sure you saw my tail sliding craziness waiting at the start)

Great driving man

oh and your camera setup kicks ***, details?

Haha thanks for the comments guys. This was my first event on the new alignment I put into the car and it really really worked well. The whole thing with this course was keeping the speed up. You could just wail into the turns and it'd just stick.

Wacked2882, pm me your AOL IM name if you have one. If not then I can pm you some things to try on your setup.

As for my camera setup, I have a suction mount w/ extension from chasecam.com. It's pretty stable, even with my camera on it. It works much better with the super small bullet cam. I have a JVC Everio Hard Disc Camera for the video. It has a 20GB hard drive in it, but I have to use an SD card because of the vibration. It really does a nice job.

Realize one thing about the 1991 Civic Si (that I previously owned ) that the brakes on that thing is phenomenal. I don't know if Adam changed it but when I ran it it only had AEM brake pads, Brembo rotors and stock rear shoes and drums. Also had the master cylinder replaced and new stainless steel brake lines with ATE Blue fluid put in.

When you step on the brakes that thing stops so fast. It was Cy or Eric from the Philly region that I gave a ride in and one of them mentioned that I sucked their eyes out of their heads. :D

I remember when Adam flushed the system back in April at our first event I almost crapped in my pants when I went to step on the brakes and it went to the floor. I was like NOOOO!!! what did you do?

I remember driving other people's 89-91 Civics and the pedal felt so mushy.

Adam's Civic all you have to do is tap the brake and the car slows down, and you can get back on the gas, whereas others you have to be on the brakes much sooner and longer to get the same effect.

Yea I had the calipers off to do some painting, and I mustn't of gotten all the air out or something. On my way down to Hershey that day it just went sooo mush for some reason. Got home after the event, bled them and the pedal was rock solid once again. The brake are just incredible on this car.

I did just have the rotors cut before this past event. I am still on the same AEM pads however.

Adam or Mike :

13/16" or 15/16" master cylinder? I'm finding that both are listed for the car in most online part catalogs.

I'm pretty sure the car has the 13/16 since it probly is not legal for the 15/16. The 15/16 was only used in the Integra wasn't it?

15/16 is the EX sedan master. I have it on my car and it for sure helps with brake feel.

the 90-93 Teg is the same size but you have to do alot of stuff to get it to work in there(change booster and bend brake lines).

Adam congrats on the win, and the video rocked dude. The Camera Angles were great.

The thing here is, it probly isn't legal to use for STS. There is nothing in the rules saying that it can be swapped for another one.
