OT - Google earth racetracks
I just found out google earth is out for macs, so I have been wasting my night hours the past 2 nights looking for cool stuff. I figured what's cooler than the racetracks I have only seen on TV and video games. There is many I tried to find, but the detail is not there. I was able to find Suzuka on my PC, but not on the mac for some reason. Spa, motegi, laguna seca, nurburgring are all too blurry. I couldn't find melbourne on the map. I tried finding donington and brand's hatch, but couldn't find them yet.
Here's what I have so far, feel free to add.
Imola:
Maranello test track (note the red transports):
Mugello:
Montreal:

I always look at these. Putnam park comes in incredibly clear, but not that exciting to look at. MAM, CMP, and IMS are all really clear too. As well as Suzuka.
I spend way way way too much time on Google Earth. Check out Disney World too, pretty awesome to see from above.

here are a few I grabbed. Not too many exotic ones, but its a start.
Silverstone
Suzuka
Infineon/Sears Point
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
And just because its so clear, Putnam Park.

On Google maps I couldn't get clear shots of Mid-Ohio, Buttonwillow, or Laguna Seca. Willow Springs and California Speedway came out clear. In fact, you can see the tire lines at Cali Speedway's parking lot where autocrosses and kart races are held.

I couldn't get summit, VIR, or mid-ohio
I also tried sepang, bahrain, and dubai without luck (well I think I might have seen the construction of sepang)
I know sepang and dubai are probably newer than the images, how about bahrain?

I saw Chicago Motorspeedway in Cicero, IL. The track looks bare and I can't tell if it's an old pic where the track is near completion, or if it's a recent pic and the track is just in the beginning of being bulldozed.

If you check out Google Earth Communties there are tons more, including "Ghost Tracks". It's a big thread borad for GE addicts like myself. Someone even found Tokyo R235 (#?) from GT4, i'll have to post it later today. Also Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL comes in crytal clear and across the street you'll find some visable autocross tracks

That is so badass. An island with nothing but a nice track, air strip, and a bar. What else do you need to survive?</TD></TR></TABLE>
No air strip. And it's not a bar. It's a casino. I'm pretty sure it's not an air strip. I walked pretty much the whole island and didn't see any room for an airstrip. I've been wrong before though.

Correct - what looks like a landing strip is actually a man-made lake where waterski and other similar competitions take place.
