OS Giken vs Carbonetic Carbon Clutch LSD?
Hey guys I'm in the market for a new lsd over the winter. I was wondering if anyone had experience with either. I know that the OS Giken is like the pinnacle of LSD performance, but I'm wondering if the Carbonetic Carbon Clutch type is worth trying out. It's almost half the price of the OS Giken which is why I'm interested.

I have an MFactory clutch lsd and am very happy with it. Great customer service too. I was deciding between it and the OSG and went with MFactory because of the price.

You are right about the OSG, in my opinion they are they best all around. Carbonetics also makes very high quality lsd...and clutches as well. I think it's worth a shot if you cannot swallow the price of the OS.

Yeah I'm very tempted to go OSG, problem is that $1600 is pretty steep when I have to build an entire car by spring. I think I may have to give the Carbonetics a shot.

A little birdy told me that Mfactory is fixing to release a new Clutch LSD.
Supposed to be on par with the OS one.
Will have as many plates as a OS unit.
And will still be under $1,000

Having used a MFactory Clutch Type, then Carbonetic and now an OS Giken LSD I can say that there's really no comparison between anything else on the market and what OS Giken has to offer. Throw in the support that OS Giken gives racers with their tuning services and you really have a package that can't be beat.
I did enjoy my Carbonetic LSD and found that it worked very well and had good life, however the performance that I gained from switching to the OS Giken really showed me that it was worth the extra cost.
One thing to note about Carbonetic is that they technically don't exist as a company in the US anymore and everything has been taken over by ATS Across. The prices of the ATS stuff is actually more then OS Giken after the change over so that's some food for thought if you were considering going the Carbonetic/ATS route.
As for the MFactory, I had limited success with the one that I had. When it did work it worked well however I found that it required a rebuild pretty fast and lasted us less then a season of racing which was disappointing. I'd be interested in seeing how the new MFactory units compare to what's on the market today.

Re: OS Giken vs Carbonetic Carbon Clutch LSD?
I bought a Carbonetic Carbon Clutch LSD, it is quiet and it worked well... at first. After 1/2 a dozen auto-x events the diff had catastrophic failure. Carbonetic replaced the diff because of the issue. Both diffs were broken in using their recommended oils and procedure. The second diff lasted 3 events and had the same issue. Carbonetic wouldn't even reply to me after this diff blew up. Keep in mind the car the diffs were on makes 330hp and 220ftlbs on a 275 hoosier A6. I think the combo of grip and torque are what killed the diff even though carbonetic claimed their diff would be fine for my car. I have since switched to the OS diff. I have had 3 events on the diff without a hiccup. I honestly wish I would have bought the OS diff to begin with and saved myself the cost of buying two diffs in one year. I have pics and details about the carbon diff if you would like more detail PM me.

Well seems that OS Giken is going to end up being the dif I choose. Just have to work enough overtime to be able to swing the $1600 for it.

I use the OSG on my K-swapped CRX and love it....both track and autocross. Was worth a half second a lap at my local track.

I bought on Active Traction Service (ATS), the guy reply very fast, nice service
it's not installed yet
I choose ATS because they made alot of research on their side since couple years and they offer more type of lsd as the carbon disc. They don't subcontract to kaaz to make their LSD as Spoon do.
I have requested to fix the initial torque at 15kg-m as OSG can do also. But many others companies do not offer this service.
Newly designed chromoly differential case
Speedometer drive gear is carved on the differential case. A speedometer driven gear is included.
I paid $1450 shipped to my home
