Oregon Raceway Park
I went down to Oregon Raceway Park on Friday for a track day. It is the best track in the Northwest region right now. It's like driving a roller coaster ride.
Here is a video of my last session.

Wow, it looks like it's an hour or so past the Tri-Cities. Possibly closer to me than Pacific Raceways, and with out going over Snoqualmie Pass

Re: Oregon Raceway Park
Several of the owners of the track are Conference racers so they really wanted to lay down something challenging. They all had a dream of owning their own race track and none of them are uber wealthy so while ORP doesn't have all the amenities of a PIR or Laguna Seca, it definitely offers some of the most challenging corners around.
Just some stats:
1: A left to right 14 degree banked "half pipe"
2: 16 corners
3: Over 400 feet of elevation change.
4: Tons of safe runoff room
Here's what a race looks like from earlier this season:

rice_classic: Got any advice that you can maybe see from the vid? I'm still using what you taught me earlier this year at PR when you were my instructor.

Re: Oregon Raceway Park
A couple things
1: Use a bit more curb in T2
2: try a little LFB between T3 and T4
3: You're good at T7 but pay attention to T8. You're giving up 1 second there. Go a little wider up the hill. Watch your vid and my vid side by side and you'll see the difference. I didn't learn how important that tiny difference is until I watched the video of 2 competitors who both set faster times. I adapted to the change and dropped a second doing a 1:58.xx during the race.
I gotta say though, I'd be comfortable racing next to you and hope that happens some day.
BTW: I raced at Mission Raceways for the first time this year and boy, that's a track that is hard on cars and brutal, absolutely hateful to brakes.
