Opinions needed based on experience - Exedy or Competition Clutch?
based on my need for a clutch for my upcoming engine swap, i am in need of a clutch.
i have good experience with Exedy clutches, and was planning a Stage 1 with their LW flywheel. however, the flywheel is on intergalactic backorder for 1+ months.
i have also heard good things about Competition Clutch products. they are out of ATL like i am. looking at kit # ck-8026-2, which is a "stage 2" with LW flywheel, and according to them good for 80% more torque, or agressive street and moderate track use.
price wise, the CC clutch and LW flywheel is approx $100 more my cost vs. the Exedy.
this car will primarily be a daily street car, but it will also be an auto-x'er and a NASA HPDE car... no drag, all road course and cones.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES, IF ANY, WITH THE COMPETITION CLUTCH VS EXEDY?
i know, go with what i have always used, but the fact is i need a clutch next week... if it were a customer, i would leave the choice to them. but me, i'm an impatient bastard...
thanks all.

I run an Exedy stage 1 with a Fidanza 7lb in a B18C and love it. I didn't think I would notice a difference in the flywheel over the stock ITR but I do.

I unknowingly had a 6-puck competition clutch, pressure plate and stock flywheel in my car. I raced on this set up for 2 years. When I did a transmission swap, I decided to go with a new clutch/pressure plate and flywheel. I got the 9lb flywheel from Exedy with their stage one clutch/pressure plate. Its been in the car now for a year with auto-cross events and drag racing often (this car is strictly for racing, not daily). The competition clutch pressure plate seemed funny sometimes as if it would get sticky, almost like an inconsistent pedal. Maybe it is just me, but the Exedy setup I have is very consistent and punctual. By the way, set-up is very streetable.
I voted for Exedy.
I've got an ls with a b16 transmission in a 89 hatch.

I think most people would say exedy, but I've been rocking a competition stage 4 for the past 3yrs without any problems.
