Re: The Official Formula 1 2016 Season Thread
Hami still crying about "setup" changes that weren't good for him.
Lewis Hamilton: I've lost half a second in F1 to Nico Rosberg - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
So is Merc making Ham slower? Or did they get developments that he didn't like, but Nico did? I'll go wither the latter before the former.
And I bet he ran them because they were faster, too. Nothing to prevent him from running the old equipment/setups, except you know it's slower than the new bits.

I forgive Austin because it was tricky conditions.
Is Seb fragile because he went to late in the brakes in Canadia 2011 to let JB through? Nah. So why is it different for Nico?

At least that's how I see it, I could be wrong.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2016 Season Thread
Blueprints must be submitted to the FIA for each new engine, correct. I would guess there would have to be significant differences between different engines. Otherwise Renault could dump the heap of garbage and introduce a new motor only slightly different from what the currently have and just call it an Nissan or Infinity.
I don't think the same PU can undergo to different paths of development with the way the regs are currently written. That could be changed which might be something planned for the off season, not sure.

Hamilton vs. Nico is shaping up much like Seb vs. Webber. In 2014 Hamilton trailed in the points for a while and then won everything at the end of the season (6 out of 7 races) to take home the WDC. In 2015 Nico was a non factor in the WDC, just like Webber in 2011. Nico knows he is a #2 driver now and is driving to fit the part.

Agreed. I wish the FIA would have left the design and development side a little moar open but set a cap on engine price and told teams they had to supply same version for all, like they did in 2014.

FIA gives Ecclestone/Todt mandate to change F1
How are Bernie and his gang gonna **** things up now lol
In an extraordinary move by the World Motor Sport Council, it was announced that Todt and Ecclestone would be allowed to take action on governance structure, engines and cost cuts, amid frustrations about the way teams are blocking progress.
In a statement issued by the FIA after the WMSC's hearing in Paris on Wednesday, it said: "The World Motor Sport Council approved, by a near unanimous number (just one vote against), a mandate for the FIA President, Jean Todt and the Representative of the Commercial Rights Holder, Bernie Ecclestone to make recommendations and decisions regarding a number of pressing issues in Formula One such as governance, Power Units and cost reduction.
"Mr Todt and Mr Ecclestone expressed their intention to establish conclusions on these matters by 31 January, 2016."

Re: The Official Formula 1 2016 Season Thread
The last GP suggested their chassis was quite good. Now that doesn't mean it will be in 2016 but it bodes well. I think (moar like hoping) that Honda's compressor was too small and this was something they couldn't change during the season. They didn't have enough energy recovery and of course had the heat/failure issues. It's possible the heat/failure issues were due to the strain placed on the ERS by the small compressor. This is just speculation by me so it could be way off. I'm hoping they will be improved in 2016 but I'm counting on Haas being faster.
