Re: The Official Formula 1 2015 Season Thread
I should just pull a Rita and give up on this F1 pick thing. Sainz has to start from pitlane, Bottas and Massa are way down the field. Ric whose car has been garbage all year ends up 4th? I mean I know the PU is less important here but the RB chassis hasn't really impressed at all.
I wonder if I can score points in the single digits. This just blows...

“I sound like I’m being miserable,” he said. “But we should be third, and that’s legit. That’s not saying I locked up a brake or something. We started the lap without maximum power for qualifying. It was just a miscommunication with the pit wall, and I was two-tenths slower than before entering Turn One. That’s the two-tenths we needed to be third, and that’s free lap time we gave away.

The Toro Rosso driver had made Q3 and earned an encouraging eighth place on his first F1 appearance in Monaco.
He said that he didn’t see the red light at the entry to the pit lane. The FIA does have some leeway if the car is immediately pushed back to the weighbridge without the team working on it, but in this case that didn’t happen and STR carried on unaware that he had missed the check, so the harshest penalty was inevitable.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2015 Season Thread
Let me add the caveat the whole car/body has to be present and in driving condition.
Edit: That is the old style Indy car BTW not the new ugliness.
That still looks pretty fine. So my statement stands!

Lew signs $150m contract extension with Mercedes and they lose a 19 sec lead for him and with a pit lane gaffe under the SC.

Well that was unexpected lol. Ham can't be a happy camper. I guess he could go home and roll around in his 150 million to make himself feel better.
Anyone know what was up with him parking the car for a bit right b4 the tunnel? I was hoping he would just get out and walk home lol. That would have been an interesting podium had it happened.

Guys on NBCSN were speculating the VSC switching to reg SC was the issue. They said Ros and Vet could go faster under the SC than under the VSC.
I'm not sure that is the case but if it is that's really a bad break for Ham and not as much an error on Merc.
That said why the **** would you bring him in. Those tyres were fine to the end and there are so many ways a pit stop can be screwed up. Unless Ham thought he went through debris and thought he might lose a tire but he never indicated that.

"He(Hamilton) explained: "I thought the guys behind were pitting so when the team said stay out, I said these tyres would drop in temps and what I was concerned they were on options - so with that thinking I came in with the full confidence that the others had done the same."
Damn dude, that SC period really showed the indecisiveness(w/ tires) AGAIN between team and driver during crucial points of the race.
