I was at the Beaver Run race track in Pittsburgh over the weekend for the Nasa Hyper-fest event. I was racing my 89 crx si in the Honda-challenge (H4).

On sunday evening, around 5 pm, we gridded for our race. After the race, we returned to our paddock spot only to find our 600 dollar Longacre racing jack had been Jacked!
If any of you see a used Longacre jack on Ebay or being used at VIR with out a handle on the side of the jack, (not the main jacking and lowering handle) please let me know.
We have an idea that it was a guy from Virginia, in a red integra, who was hanging around our area late on sunday. He was driving a street car in the Hyper Drive event, and then beat feet real quick in his car when the police and track security showed up.
I used this jack everyday in my race shop as I don't have a lift in the shop yet...(lack of $).
I know you guys are a tight group of members, and my friend in Randleman has been sending me stuff about your club for a while and I like your atmosphere...so I am asking you as a new "family" member to be on the look out for my jack at a local track event in the near future.
If you'd like to see a pic of what the jack looks like, just go to Longacre racing products online catalog and check it out. I paid over 600 bucks for the jack and now I am in a real world of hurt cause I have cars to work on today at the store/shop and no jack to use....guess I have to go back and fix my 70 Lb jack from Wal-Mart that is broken in order to do my business...this just breaks my heart that it got ripped off... I worked my *** off my 6 years with that jack to afford a nice race jack, and it was a reward from my wife for working so hard over those 6 years and not blowing a hole in our check book just to afford a better jack. I earned it the hard way, and now some sap has got my pride and joy!
In over 30 years of racing, this is the first thing I have had stolen, and we know in the paddock area, that racers don't steal from racers, so that is why we feel it was some street car owner who lives in the east.

Thanks in advance to all of you members for reading this post and anyone who can get me info to bust the s.o.b. who ripped me off, there is a 100 dollars or more depending on the info and safe return as a reward...

Wow, thats pretty fucked up.

I told chris i didnt have his jack, nor did I see it our use it, as he came and asked me about it. If he likes, he can come search my car. Its still packed. The jack he saw me using belonged to Cobetto, which we used for tech inpound.

that's heartbreaking....any chance of finding out the guy's name from the Hyperfest organizers? If he drove on track they got his info somewhere...dunno if that's reason enough for them to give it to you, but it's a thought. Good luck, will your homeowners insurance cover the jack maybe?

Gerald Neither. His car was parked on the other side of mine anyways at the end of the day. I packed up both of our cars about 4pm, so i am certain it is not in either red integra.

It was found. All of the accusations could have been avoided with a phone call to the event organizer (cobetto).

The Jack wasn't stolen. We were using a very similar one in Tech that we had borrowed from Dan Elam. Dan sent someone over to collect "a jack" and they grabbed the wrong one. Honest mistake. Chris Stiffler talked to me about it at the track and we got security, police and the track involved. We considered searching everyone's car but that is against the law according to the cop. There was no theft as it turns out and the jack should be back in it's owners hands today.
