Mid Ohio HPDE Aug 14-15 w/ NASA
Just throwing it out there to see if anybody here planned on going. A bunch of us ITR homos are going. We're trying to rally up some numbers and get Dave @ NASA to run the chicane as they are going to keep it out unless they can get people to convince them otherwise.
So far there are only 4 of us paid/confirmed but a bunch more are about to register.
Just wanted to throw it out there.

this mid ohio thing was brainstormed when we were at CMP in may.
Yes I will 100% be at NCCAR in sept, I need to register still actually.

Yes, if you've never ran with NASA before it'll require a membership. But keep in mind a membership gives you a free subscription to grassroots motorsports (which is great toilet reading) If I recall correctly it's still around $40.
You'll receive an instructor if you sign up for HPDE-1

If you'd like you could do a Hyperdrive, it's pretty much just one classroom session and one instructor-led session out on the course, it's $59 and doesn't require a membership. I would suggest this if you have no other alternative as one session will not be enough

I may stop by to watch but I haven't been able to afford track days for a long time
If you guys are looking for stuff to do in Columbus, there's at least 4 or 5 HT members that live here.
Are you guys signing up for HPDE1? You should sign up for 2 or 3 and let me be your "instructor", I have 700+ laps logged at MO

I'm sure we'll all just be staying at a local hotel, the large majority of us will be coming in from the Carolinas.

I've been waiting to do one of these for a long time. I just picked up a 97 GSR to use specifically at the track. It's bone stock right now, what kind of prep work do you recommend for HPDE1? I'm not talking upgrades, but general track maintenance kind of stuff.

I'm going to try and get the funds put together. I'm only an hour and fifteen minutes north, straight up I-71 almost to Cleveland. I'd also like to go down the weekend before for World Challenge / Indy race. Might have to pick one or the other.

None the less if you can't muster up the funds you can do the Hyperdrive for $59 which is just one classroom session and one instructor-led track session, it'll be enough to pop your cherry and ruin the rest of your life.

So how much more track time do you get with the HPDE session vs. the Hyperdrive session?
Trust me, my cherry is ready to be popped. I should have got started with this years ago before I got married.

Is there a sign up link?
Also, can you pay when you get there or do you have to pay upfront?
I might track my teg if it's done. I really don't want to burn up my race tires on the Del Sol for an HPDE.

Yea, he posted the link earlier:

Either way, you have to be a NASA member. I've been meaning to do that so I took care of it today. Here's that link:

Re: Mid Ohio HPDE Aug 14-15 w/ NASA
nice! are you guys coming down, at bare minimum swing down and hang out. We'll have a pretty decent showing.
You'll be looking to get 4 sessions on both days with HPDE, Hyperdrive only gets one of those 8 sessions. My suggestion to everybody is if that's all you can swing then by all means do it but I can tell you one session won't even be enough to shake your nerves as a first timer; however, it'll be enough to get the bug.

Have fun guys! MO is my favorite track. If you do it right, it's very rewarding. Personally I like it without the chicane tho, since it seems to clog up traffic.

Re: Mid Ohio HPDE Aug 14-15 w/ NASA
I am debating on whether I could drive. I should buy some better front pads. The Hawk HPS had plenty of stopping power, but the pedal rode a bit low once they warmed.
