Major steering problem under braking...
Has any one encounter similar bad behavior before? The car steers fine normally and under acceleration as well. The steering wheel is centered. However, under hard braking it'll go hard right. I tried to adapt to the car and literally the steering wheel turns about 40 degrees to the left just to keep the car straight when braking. It wasn't my car so I only reported the problem to the owner. At first I had suspected some kind of brake issues, such as maybe fluids were not full/major bubbles in line. Or pads, pistons getting stuck and what not. At the time the on track mechanic looked it over and bleed the brakes but in later track sessions the problem remained. I still managed to do some okay laps at 2:14's BW13CW but it was rather difficult. After the event I thought perhaps maybe some bushings were bad? Any speculation on what would cause the steering issue under braking? The owner never told me if they found out what the problem was. I don't believe they have road raced the car since.
Anyone else experienced something like what I described above? It's the most evil car I have driven. Thinking back I was stupid for even putting up with it. Strangely though it was just fine accelerating straight and cornering hard...

Maybe a bad shock causing different geometry left bs right? Maybe one caliper not clamping as hard? Fluid leak?
Just guessing.

Just shooting a guess out there, too, but is one rotor warped perhaps?
If someone checked the brakes, though, I doubt this is the case.

There were no vibration or shake so it was not warped rotor(s). Just a hard pull to the right when you nail the brakes. My on track solution at the time was to time it so that when I hit the brakes i let go of the steering wheel for a moment and let it self center under hard braking (wheen goes to like 40 deg to the left) and then upon release the brakes correct the steering path. In retrospect now I think I was crazy to put up with it at the time... With the symptoms described is it more likely something in the braking system or something in the front suspension component?

You checked the alignment I assume? Cause my other guess would be uneven tire wear. If one of your front tires is worn really weird compared to the other tire it can cause weird braking too.

I was going to chime in alignment as well. My car is doing the same thing, but I just got done redoing the suspension, and am getting an alignment today.

also try swapping pads left to right. see if it turns the other way. sometimes a pad on one side will bake changing its coefficient of friction.

This was a first gen RHD JDM Honda Fit. Alignment was done before hitting the track but I was not sure of the setting... the front brakes were blingy new set of Endless big brake kit. At the time it was an new addition to the car so I was suspecting it as the potential culprit...

Im leaning towards the rotor, and pads.
I have seen many people install a big brake kit and warp a rotor right away by over torquing the nuts.
Uneven pad wear will cause this too..
Id try a fresh set of pads and see if it changes.
Proportioning valve??? could be, too new of a car to have an issue with that, but stranger things have happened.
What fluid is being used?

Oh just thought of this too. Did you use these brakes on the track already? When you were done with your session did you do a cool down lap? Or did you come into the pits and stay on your brake pedal for awhile?
I did this after my 1st track day at VIR. Didn't do a cool down lap and just parked it in pit actually I was talking to someone so I was of course on my brake pedal as talking. Warped my rotors bad.

warp rotors will create a lot of vibration. You would feel a lot of pulsation when you apply the brake. It is a posibility but I'm leaning towards something wrong with your suspension. Altough changing to big breaks shouldn't matter with your proportioning valve there is a chance that the line going to the other side is not purged. Did they follow the instructions to bleed the front?. Or maybe something is blocking the line. If it was an old farm pickup truck I would tell you your suspension is shut and need to replace everything. I actually had an old farm pickup truck that used to do the same. If there is a bushing that is bad or a ball joint when you apply the brake it pulls it back and changes the toe on that tire. Under hard braking you just notice it more.

Its either a bad rear control arm bushing causing toe due deflection under braking or a pinched hardline. Dont spend time with swaping pads or discs or bleeding etc etc, its either or. Check it out then let us know.

It looks like a braking problem. To avoid spending unnecessary $ try a brake test first, some brake shop have this roller machine that looks like a Dyno.
Could be a suspension problem, but you should be having problems when going str line too!

not really tico, you can go in straight line under acceleration and get out of shape under braking. I'm with Ferreira
