a friend of mine was told from a friend of his that it was a built motor making around the neighborhood of 340hp.

what mods were done to the car? 230whp in the car is fantastic, but to pass fd's and vipers like that is just crazy, granted he is a phenomenal driver.

what kind of suspension / rates was he running?

same driver, different car.

Jacks just an awesome and aggressive driver. The car was still H1 spec for Feb last I heard.

Why exactly do you say this? Just because he has superior hardware doesn't mean that the driver will be a superior driver. The driver could be a rookie and getting his feet wet. Just looking at the other side of the coin.

According to Mylaps, his best time was 1:32.2, which isn't blazing fast considering the car that won the National Championships in H1 (Hasport Integra) has the track record at around 1:30.5.

maybe it's his special technique to "balance" the car at the edge of cornering adhesion?

I think it's mostly attributed to his driving and I don't think he was even close to 340 at the wheel. I've passed Vipers at HPDE events before in the car in my sig (225whp) by fools who didn't know how to drive them and I've also been left in the dust by guys who did. 225 at the wheel just isn't enough to keep up with them in a straight line. MAYBE with the older ones like 91 or or so when they had 400hp you might be able to keep up but I don't know about passing one. And forget about the new 600hp monster.

Watching his videos and watching mine that guy can drive his *** off and I suck. lol

340hp? Are we still talking about a K20 in NA form? I'm not even making 340rwhp out my built 3.6L.

I don't think any H1 car is making near 340hp. I might have misheard him, but I was actually there the day he raced and checked out the car. Looked like a simple K20 setup.

yeah the Honda R&D car is making near 340 from what i remember from a conversation with the driver but its restricted by a huge weight penalty.

It was a good video but the real competition out west wasn't present so its hard to say how fast he really was. No Andrie or Bernardo the past 2 champions...

i don't know were any are, but ya it is red and white. Ran the 25 hours of thunder hill, a bunch of sprints, nationals and even an enduro or two in the MW/EC.

IIRC the TL typeS had the fast lap in any of the HC sessions.

He knows how to do it, just feels like it doesn't shave any seconds off his lap time.

it's not Andrie's civic. It's used to be Varo's civic(2004? Socal H1 champ).

what it used to look like:

****, I KNOW I'm not making time by doing it. That doesn't mean I totally don't give a crap about my motor or transmission.
