I guess running a 2hr enduro on pads that saw 4 races, and 4 days of lapping was a bit much...

You could still squeak (no pun intended) a weekend or two out of those pads and rotors.

B00kler did pretty well, I think getting 2nd place in STGT on fri, and 1st place in GT2 on sat [yah, i know, he classes himself creatively ]

He seemed happy.

I got 1st place in GT2 in the enduro, even though my pitstop t00k an abysmal 6:30mins [note to self: get gas tanks with breathers in them]....and was 3rd place overall...prolly would have won overall if the pitstop didn't take that long.

I am happy with the results, considering it was my 1st enduro ever, and I did the whole 2hr stint by myself...

I'd say Matt D. did quite well in the enduro.....He passed me several times. I did alright ....finished 2nd overall in ST1.........would have been first if I too didn't have such a loooong pitstop.
Yes, Bookler did very well also....killing as many Mustangs as he could find and catch...LOL

Well, we had a long pitstop too, what with changing the front tires and all, and don't forget I also stuck it in the kitty litter on the last lap... Yet somehow ST1 was ours

Sorry I didn't get to meet you Maxx as I enjoyed meeting other H-T'ers

Friday I started 6th overall in big bore (2:18.8xx), 3rd in STGT. I finished 5th overall, 2nd in STGT.

Saturday I moved the car to GT2 to race our canadian friends. I qualified 5th overall (2:18.2xx), but since Martin in the other GT2 Civic had to start last because he wasn't driving it during qualifying, I decided to start next to last. I wanted to have somebody to race, and to give him a chance at the class win. I didn't want a hollow victory. I went from 23rd back to my qualifying position of 5th in about 5 or 6 laps. Martin finished an impressive 8th or 9th, which was amazing considering that the race was actually his first laps ever on the track.

Awesome weekend though.

Matt

P.S. Hey Matt, what did you think of my strategy to go far left on the start? It looked like it got you at least two positions, but by the time you came around for lap two you were back a few spots. What happened?

-This is what happens when j00 treat an enduro as a sprint race...huhu....i am such a dumbass....at least i didn't try to be a hero and didn't loop it back onto the track in front of the whole field.

Notice how loose the car is in T1, T2, and T3 (and obviously in the bus stop), it REALLY didn't like cold tires and cold track temps....scary ride

-nope, the fluid overflowed from the master cylinder reservoir, and leaked through the hole in the fender.

-yup, big to Andie at Cobalt Friction for recommending and selling me the GTR VR pads. Definitely getting those again

Jake and Dave,

I think we should post the pictures of the brake plates that we pulled out of Dave's car on Friday night to match Matt's picture. Dave can talk more about running the race on $11 AutoZone pads on Saturday.

What happened to the leader(Blue Car)? Did you guys touch? Or did he just happen to have other issues at the exact same time, and let off?
Nice save.

"NOT AGAIN! DON'T TELL ME I HIT HIM...."

I was pretty sure there was no contact made...in fact, I went off to make sure I didn't loop it back in front of the whole field....but still...

i have a lot to learn still

ST is EMRA's (www.emraracing.org) classification system. The classes are, in order of slowest to fastest, ST5, ST4, ST3, ST2, ST1, STGT. Most of the people here on the board raced in GT2 instead of STGT.

Cool. Never heard of it before. I didn't think it was a NASA or SCCA class. I read their web page. Looks like a good club, I will have to remember this, because I live close to some of those tracks and having yet another club to run with is never bad.

It is a nice club because us under prepared cars (less than the SCCA $30,000 budget) can actually compete.

Fortunately the $11 pads were for the rear brakes. I got the pep boys special for the front ones. I can't believe the Porterfield pads went so quickly!!! They worked great on Friday - until I too had nothing but metal. Somehow I didn't kill my rotors. Absolutely nothing left on them.

Some guy brought a lexus into the shop I work in complaining of a pedal that sank to the floor. Long story short he had worn the right rear pads through the backing plate and was working on going through the caliper. He was about .5mm away from going completely through the rotor. You could see a very faint outline of the vanes on the rotor.
