There isn't any SCCA SOLO in South Florida, events are run by ERSCC.
Those concrete barriers are not usually there, get a tire in the grass and you're probably hitting them.
I noticed little difference between a couple set of RA1 take offs and the rivals. 40TW slicks are a totally different level tho, more so then I expected.

Yup... Before I took my racing hiatus, I'd only run Hoosiers for about 5-6 years. Good r-comps are an amazing thing.
Regarding Extreme Perf tires and the lower end R-comps... Their ultimate grip braking and cornering is similar. When the braking and turning are combined is where I see the lower end r-comps beating up the extreme Perf tires. There's a notable difference there, IMO.

Re: How to: Quaife 88-91 2.8 LTL Quick Rack & Pinion into 92-95 Steering Gearbox
Small update....
After the first week and event the rack developed a little play. I had replaced all the rack guide components as well, so I thought they might break in and loosen up.
The FSM says up to 10mm of play is within spec, however I preferred when it had basically none. This is adjustable via the rack guide screw, however it's impossible to access with the rack in the car with normal tools. Pulled the rack and went over it. Everything looks to be holding up perfectly well. Welded pinion shaft looks perfect, as well as the rack gears teeth.

where did you get your quaife quick rack kit?
I know there's a lot of vendors out there, but just want to know where did you get yours.
I'm thinking about to do this as well.

Found it in forum classifieds for a deal. I remember there being a couple sellers on eBay with them listed.

speaking of quick racks... In Japan Honda S2000 has a VGS model and it has a very fast variable ratio rack. I briefly drove one it's pretty neat. we had imported a VGS model S2000 to USA in 2012.
