Boy, that list sure seems...abbreviated, from what I remember before.

I'll be missing this one this year as my car is having issues. And don't want to travel so far I will not be able ot get back home.

Are the rules for Super Challenge going to be on the fly again like in 2005? That was a little silly in my book.

An all Honda event would be a lot of fun but it's probably way too far and too soon for me to make it. Just for fun I added up the points I have from mods = 58. So starting with a CRX HF I'd be running in the NSX class. That's fine with me.

Superchallenge was something like 3 autox runs and 3 drag runs, with points somehow appointed to whatever values. Basically, whoever does both best, wins. There were (I think) no rules for setup other than tires, which wound up being a big deal because somebody got kind of retarded about it a year or two ago. I have no idea what the rules would be this year, if a spec tire brand is required, or what.

They did before, but it put you in whatever class. For Superchallenge, if I remember right, you had to do everything on one set of tires. It could be slicks if you wanted, but then you'd most likely not do very well at the autox.

i went expecting to have some fun in the super challenge like every year. i didnt expect to win but i just wanted to have some fun.

this year they jacked the prices to 50 bucks last year was 40. on top of that. you have to run shitty bfg tires or they wont let you in. this was the first time they did some **** like that.

every year you could still do the superchallenge even tho you didnt have bfg.

this year you have to have it to even do the super challenge. wtf kinda of **** is this. im not going to spend money on shitty overpriced bgf tires. what happen to just going out to have some fun. i guess its all about money these days.

they had like what 3 cars run the superchallenge this year? what a joke. thanks for killing it this year

I saw that on the web site, what a crock of sh*t.

The autocross is fine but the rest of the event sucks... I told myself 2 years ago after the first tire fiasco that I'd never support that POS event.

we fought with officials for a while about that. the tire bullshit, the fact that bfg WAS NOT sponcering the event, and what not. basically, the officials were full of crap and wouldnt let a munch of us run superchallange because we didnt have bfgs.
BUT
there were 3 total cars in super challange. one had bfg, one had azenis, one had michelin. WTF?
Englishtown-take honda day and shove it.

ps-ill post the entire story later.

X2 agreed.

It was really unbelievable.

3 guys did the event. I guess they showed us who was in charge.

Wow I'm glad I didn't go this year then. I wonder what the North NJ guys have to say about the event this year. I also stopped going because of all the bs, and the other fact is you never know if you step away from your car if it's going to be there when you get back.

Then you have the people doing drags flying through the autocross paddock area at like 30-40mph even though security & signs around pit tell you 5-10mph.

The 1st years of Honda Day were fun. No tire bs, no changing the rules the day of the event, just a fun day to hang out with other Honda gurus and just autocross or drag race.

Well I went and dispite all the drama over the super challenge, I had fun. Its not often I get to take 2 practice runs and 6 timed runs at an autox.

You don't really have to worry about your car if you park down by the autox. Noone even walks down there unless they're in it.

So did anyone get a straight answer as to why the BFG tires were required if BFG wasn't sponsoring the thing?
