H1 #88 is now ready for action in '04
Well John W. took her away from me again yesterday....
#88 is ready for action in the 2004 season of the ECHC, the 'ole Hatchcrap is now back in it's owners hand.
Few pics:
TI is totally a wear item (second set of tainers for the hatchy)
Perfectly good reason why a good engine builder "should" clay the assembly before cranking, it doesn't get much closer than this. Lucky, lucky, lucky [stock head/bottom end, Toda cams/springs, two layer gasket..... BTW]
A loading dyno is such a wonderful thing......
vid of the toda yum, yummy getting all "hot and bothered"
right click, save as, please:
http://www.p1auto.com/jack/mov...r.MPG
Thanks for making the trip John, good luck this year.

Re: H1 #88 is now ready for action in '04 (B18CXr)
Jack,
Thanks for the great service and all the detailed work that went into the engine.
For those who don't know, Jack is located in South Carolina and I'm in New Jersey. A total distance of 620 miles each way and I did it 4 times to get the car in the hands of perhaps the best engine builder and tuner on the east coast.
Details of my new H1 engine are confidential . However the gains that P1 was able to achieve surpassed my expectations.
Dyno numbers reflected massive TQ and HP improvements across the entire range. Massive being 15-18 average HP and a peak of 23.
Maybe the most exciting part of my P1 experience- The numbers above reflected a very conservative tune. Jack set the engine up for a long race season and left allot of HP on the table. The numbers could have jumped up another good amount but for the sake of reliability we elected not to push the envelope. ( ...of coarse this doesn't rule out the loose nut behind the wheel from causing bad things to happen )
John- who's looking forward to putting down some serious power and strongly recommends P1 Auto for engine work.
Edit!!!
I forgot to say 100% completely legal!!!!! Engine internals, bottom end, pistons, clutch, flywheel and head are 100% LEGAL!
BTW- The ECHC tech inspectors will be doing some serious H1 engine inspecting at CMP. Be legal or be DSQed.

That is outstanding. It's a lot more fun when there are no lingering questions about the legality of a competitor's car.

Read that as lingerie, and thought you were going to bring up froggie panties or something
Jack--is that second picture showing where a valve scraped off a layer of carbon without touching the piston itself? Damn, that IS close!

Too far for me, too. for me, VIR was definitely worth the tow (one sprint race, plus the 3-1/2 hour enduro), but its just too far for me to tow down to CMP to justify two sprint races, on a track i don't particularly love....
i'll look forward to the post race writeups, though! have fun, you guys!
