GT-1,2, or 3 in SCCA GT racing???
Does anybody run a Honda in the GT classes of SCCA? If so what engines? I never see any pictures of them, so I was just Curious.
Thanks,
Stephen

GTL has quite a few CRXs and a handful of Civics. The only inof I could find on engine choice was that one guy had a 1.6 (d? b? i don't know).

Re: GT-1,2, or 3 in SCCA GT racing??? (Dreamworx)
The GCR states what engines can be used. Pretty much all Honda / Acura motors but there are weight penalty put on the car depending on the motor.
Seems like have the cars are full tube frame built and some like the CRX's pictured are unibodies with some tubing done.
Where are people getting the bodies for the cars? Are they custom? Are the tube frame being custom done or are the just standard tube chassies that are modified for the car they are looking like?

Jamie Houseman in the past had an outstanding race winning Honda GT car in the SCCA.
Look here, http://www.housemanautosport.com/ he still sells body and many drive line parts.
There are no GT1 Hondas!!!

Re: (Mike_C)
Is there any need for race body work in these classes? Reading the rules I guess a Honda Civic 92-95 hatchback with a tube frame and an s2000 motor is out of the question. Just a dream anyway, but a fun dream.
Peace,
Stephen

That is my friend Mark Connolly's car, if I remember right it has the carbed 1.5l motor the 1g CRX came with. Other than the taillights and roof there isn't much CRX left in that car.

Re: (Simon Tibbett)
uh, i'm pretty sure he's running a 1.5l block with a teg DOHC 1.6l head. commonly referred to as the "Hydra" conversion.
there are a few GTL guys on redpepperracing.com.
