Default Coolant temp gauge sensor location B-series

Wondering where you guys have put a sensor for a coolant temp gauge. I wanted to put it in the thermostat housing. Plan was to put a "T" in where the current sensor is, but after looking at the 5 different adapters decided the housing wouldn't deal with all the extra weight during race conditions. I'm trying to be the least intrusive while still maintaining functionality.
Setup is a B18C1 head on B18B block.

I put mine on the upper radiator hose. It was easy and seems accurate.

The B18B block already has a spot for a coolant temp sending unit. It's right in front of the coolant temp sensor and behind a water hose joint. Here's a picture with it circled in red:

Can also splice wire into the stock temp sensor...

Didn’t notice the first post said B18C5, but the water neck should have a provision for coolant bleeding on it as well making it pretty easy to thread for an aftermarket coolant sensor.

I have put mine coolant temp sending unit in the upper radiator hose on my B16a.
I picked up one of these from Hasport: https://hasport.com/store/index.php/...tem/egkha.html
and cut about 1 inch out of the upper radiator hose. Autometer sending unit threads right in to the Hasport hose adapter and I used an old fan switch sensor as the plug for the other hole in the Hasport hose adapter.

I removed the thermostat housing bleeder and re-threaded the hole for my sensor. I use a filling funnel to bleed the cooling system from the cap so the stock bleeder isn't necessary.

Wow. Thanks guys, love the help I always get in this thread. I think I'm going to rethread the bleeder valve. Looks almost like it belongs in there also as often as I seem to have to pull the radiator on this thing it's one less thing to fight with.
