AutoCross/RallyCross Organizers... Sourcing New Venues?
To those who organize events, how do you overcome the initial objection of "not on my property" when you approach a person or entity to inquire about using their lot for a race day?
The last event in my area was 2002 or so (back when I was more interested in being a ricer ), and I've been doing some calling & emailing to try & line up some venues for next season. I did get a "yes" from a local college, but I think their lot is going to be a little small for an Autocross, so I've been continuing my calling & email campaign. For the most part, I'm finding out that people just don't want to be bothered.
Do you find that people just don't know enough about what we're trying to do? And that we're not a bunch of punks looking to tear up a parking lot? In my prospecting emails, I've even provided links to wikipedia pages on what the sports are about. I also mention very early that the event would be insured...
Any tips or tricks from the organizers out there that might help open some new possibilities for me?

Re: A*to*ross/Rally*ross Organizers... So*r*ing New Ven*es?
Might ask aro*nd to neighboring regions, get in to**h with whoever's r*nning yo*'re division. I think showing yo*'re part of a bigger organization helps them *nderstand yo*'re not j*st some lo*al r*ffians looking for ki*ks. O*r region is also implementing a so*nd restri*tion to help o*r appeal to new sites. I think it'll get easier over time, and yo* may have to wait *ntil yo* get a session o*t at the *ollege to say, hey people do let *s do this kind of thing. Yo* might even invite those in *harge of yo*r prospe*tive sites to an event.
Oh have yo* mentioned all the safety standards on *o*rse design? I think ****ran*e yo* won't be p*tting a high speed t*rn next to their b*ilding wo*ld help
And all my *'s are *?? ok..
