AUTOCANNON - Honda Challenge July 06, SGR CRX
Hot Hot Weekend- and here is the outcome of Sunday's race for us. As you can see, it was pretty interesting...
Out of turn 9, someone went off in front of Sam kicking up crazy dust cloud. Sam, with no vision and ***** of steel, said he just "kept my foot in it and hoped for the best".
Well, this is what he ended up with- hitting the pit wall entrance barrier. Luckily for Sam, some wall-foam, HANS, center net, harness, and cage all worked perfect.
He walked away a little sore, and wasn't even sore the day after.
Safety equipment
We thought the chassis was toast, but under closer inpection, we're planning on fixing it.
And, as you can see, Sam's smiling and is a local hero of the moment.
For some reason I thoroughly believe he forgot all about the car in this picture.
Glad he's alive, cause people have died hitting that same wall. Safety workers and NASA
Oh, by the way- the cage didn't budge. We think the cage kept the chassis straight. good fab work Sammy.

Yep, went through that same cloud. Actually, I think I helped increase the size of the cloud.
I was very happy to hear Sam was ok!

I should be said that Sam had all of the safety gear that helped him get through this crash. His Hans device and center net really were tested as the SGR CRX smashed the edge of pit entrance at somewhere around 50 to 60 mph. Sam had a sore neck on Sunday but was feeling much better when I talked with him on Monday. And yes, Sam builds one hell of a good cage, which explains why he is becoming so busy building cages for some very discriminating customers.

Wow Edo. And as bad as your vid is, it's nothing like mine is. I got it much worse!

I very much doubt they are charging "Sam". Usually there is an insurance policy to cover damages to the track!
Not saying that is exactly what will happen in this situation, but that is what happens quite often.

Re: (suprmods)
Thanks guys, yup it was a wild ride to say the least but im just happy that the car was not that badly damaged in the crash. The one thing i will say is that I am now a full believer in the center net and the Hans. Can't wate to see evey one at the track again.
