My friend gave me his #3910 Autometer 5 inch monster tach with shiftlight, but it does not work. He told me there is something wrong with it.

I opened it up and there is an ORANGE wire that is cut and BROWN wire that is also cut. Are those suppose to be cut like that?

If I solder the orange to the orange and the black to the black, will it work?

i think they are supposed to be cut, i know u cut some wires to enable it to read a 4 cylinder engine. i'm sure which ones someone must still have their directions for one.
