Re: (LowFlyin')
Hey guys this is a great post that I have a lot of interest in. I attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and am not currently a member of our SAE program mostly because they only compete in the Mini Baja event. Next year I am going to join, time permitting sense I work fulltime and only go to school half time, but I was wondering if anyone had advise on getting an FSAE program started. I plan on starting by speaking to the current faculty sponsors and see if any of them are interested or know someone interested in the sponsoring the program.
If anyone is welling to share info on this send me an email nwerner@neboiler.com!
Anyway good luck to everyone that is competing this year and keep us up to date on the non-Top Secret aspects of the cars

Keep your car really simple. Especially for a first year team you will not have the time to try anything fancy if you hope to do well. Give yourself as much testing time as possible - trust me, however much you get you'll wish you had three times as much.
Also work on recuiting and retaining a good core group of members you can rely on. Be prepared for lots of hassle with faculty and administration, many of whom will think your project is a waste of time.
