Default 90' CRX Si rear anti-roll bar question

I just bought a CRX over the weekend (64k miles on it!) and I am planning on going to the San Diego Solo II event at Qualcom Statium on July 28th. What would be a good rear anti-roll bar to put into the thing before then. Internet links would be helpful.

The car is white and immaculate. I plan on eventually road racing it (The interior is spottless hopefully I can get good money for the seats and other stuff on eBay after I gut it). I don't care about what class I autocross it in (most likely CSP with a roll bar swap right?) because I just want to develop skills and have fun. Competition comes later.

Thanks,
Steve Ellsworth

I have a Suspenions Techniques anti-roll bars (front and rear) I had to buy them in the set and I love the way it handles, but I have read that only the rear is needed( it is adjustable) if you can find it sold separatlymaybe thats all you will need. I myself am very happy with the setup now.You can try nopi, summit or any import shop on the web I beleive they all carry it.
Yes I believe the bar will put you in CSP, but if that is the only change from stock right now they may just keep you in stock,I would ask...

Just a quick question...people would DIE to have an original 64K mile 90 CRX Si. Usually, the ones that people turn into roadrace cars are old shells because basically you throw all the stock parts away anyhow. The only thing stock out of that car someone would like to have are the seats and possibly the interior, and they won't bring that much money because everyone else does what you would be doing.

A car that mint with such low miles does not deserve to be a track car!

And yeah, sway bar = CSP.

Every CRX deserves to be a track car... it's where they belong! This low mileage one is lucky enough to be let out of its cage sooner....

The only value it has to me is as a DMV registered Non-Op/smog spewing/metal exposed/sticker ridden/PURE race car. When it turns into that I'll DIE FOR IT!

I personally wouldn't like the CRX as a daily driver or even die for a mint condition one like I bought. Its way to small for me. I'm 6'3" and I have to slouch when I drive it. When I mount the Sparco EVO seat its going to be as close as possible to the floor and reclined way back. The steering wheel will be dished and have some sort of extender to bring it closer to me. BTW all the crappy ones I test drove needed way more mechanical work then I was willing to do to get the thing race ready.

However I would die for my 1982 FJ60 Toyota Land Cruiser with 113K mi. Still I off-road the hell out of it.

And I wouldn't mind if my 97 Accord got stolen so I would be forced to purchace a new RSX-Type S daily driver

Steve,

I have a Momo Rookie seat mounted on the floor and, at 6'0", I have a lot of headroom even with my helmet on.

I've always found the seating position in stock Civic's awkward. I think they're designed for an Asian body type, which seems to be a longer torso with shorter legs (not stereotyping, just observing). Since most North Americans are the opposite, I've never fit well in them. If the wheel is at a comforable distance, then the pedals are too close. If the pedals are fine, I'm too far from the wheel. I installed a big (1.75") spacer for my Sparco wheel and it's perfect.

Right on my man. I here you about that proportional difference. Too True. Thats good news about the head space in the CRX.

What kind of rear bar do you have in your ITA CRX, Scott?

Steve

Steve... I'm running a Mugen rear bar (don't remember the size). No front bar.

Right On

Those 88-91 civ/crx's are horrible street cars the only place for them is the track. They have done their tour of duty as grocery getters. I say gut it ,put the race seat in and send us pics.

I think the mugen rear bar for the crx is 22(I don't think they sell that anymore) but for type-r is 24 or 25

Bah, you guys are smokin something I love the 88-91 Si's. Although I do agree, they make great track cars. But CRX's in good condition are just so tough to find. I looked forever and the ones that were, the owners wanted some outrageous price for it.
