2009 North East Honda Challenge H2 final race
NJMP was the site of the final round of the 2009 NEHC series. Neither H1 cars showed (one was sold) so it was an H2 shootout.
With double points both days it was anyones game. Coming into the weekend it was me, jim hovey and zephyr belski in the top 3 spots with jim and I battling for the top spot. A wreck on fridays practice would turn my weekend into an interesting one.
With the help of entrophy racing I was able to get the car on good enough shape to run the weekend. But I didn't think I had enough car to run up front.
Saturdays race would end in a dispute over positions and under yellow (the safty car came out on a green track right as passes were being made.) I gave pete the 2nd and took a 3rd. Sunday came and so did the rain. More car trouble would put me in P4 for the race. But I need a win to have enough points for the championship.
This was my first time on full tread ra1s in the rain so every lap was a learning experience. On the start I get a good run and move to 2nd and latch on to jims bumper. I get another good run down the back straight and slide into 1st. From there I just try to keep a car between us and stay on track. In the end I would be victorious and win the h2 title by 8 points.pete would hold on to 3rd as mr belski got late on the brakes and took a ride through the grass.
some friends made the video. my ego is not that big http://vimeo.com/7443073

I crumpled the nose on friday trying to get freshened up on that track. Pushing too hard too early (cold tires)
