"Hmmm...I just don't know what to do....What would a Real Racer do?"
The group rotation was such a couple of weeks ago that I could easily run two groups (enough time in between to measure precisely how much more cord was showing ).
Next weekend the two groups race back to back. I can just barely do it on a single tank of gas. And I can assure that the other consumables are "within tolerance"
But it's not ideal in the context of the driving experience.
So why should I do it?
To gather points in both classes toward one or more championships that will reflect more on competitive attendance than on victory in the purest sense?
Then again, a wise fellow once told me to call a win a win and omit any bothersome details from mention.
So, really, here's a question:
"How many of you would pay an extra $100 to motor around for points in a relatively uncontested championship?"
Scott, who's just curious, and without having fully made up his mind has already submitted his entry....

What rhymes with seat time? Is it more seat time? I can't remember. There's some rhyming thing about racing that includes seat time about what's better than seat time...well, whatever. I'm sure it's not that important.

Wait there's more.
If I race ITE only, I only spend Sunday at the track. I like one day race weekends.
If I add RS, I have to qualify for it on Saturday. Not a huge deal, but it's much of a day blown for 20 minutes on track. Not my first choice in how to manage those precious weekend days. I could spend more time at work ensuring the cash flow that lets me buy parts I don't have time to fit.
And I can't take Friday off for either practice sessions.
Scott, who can't just blindly go for quantity over quality can he? A $300 practice day is worth more than 3 times $100 for a qualifier on one day, and a back to back race on the next...

Spoken like Cartman.
Can you find a pit crew to dump 5 gallons of gas into your tank?
Will your brakes last?
Do you need the practice at this track?
Do you NEED to qualify or is a DNQ good enough to get you at the back of the pack?
Good luck making the decision.

Re: (mtm68)
Why work saturday for the money to buy parts that won't make you any faster than seat time will? Go for the seat time! You did say you already entered anyway, didn't you?

Re: (Type_RS_59)
Don't joo know how the handcuffs work?
Joo work Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings to keep from going backward - to keep the job itself.
Joo doo this to stay in the sweet spot - squeezed between large but diminishing income and modest but increasing material indulgence.
Scott, who's disappointed in the H-T Brain Trust..."well, at least we can still beat up on hapless stunna's"...I pre-entered the class in the group that would provide the best chance at an entertaining race, and I can still add the second, but I don't really enjoy Enduro speed, and I really like to inspect the equipment between each sortie..."We'll see"...

Re: (RR98ITR)
But did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express?!
Which one will make YOU happier? I mean, it sounds like you are not trying to impress upon Roger Penske that he needs to hire you for his ALMS effort, in which case I would suspect enjoyment is a high priority. If running both days is going to annoy you more than give you enjoyment, well... it seems like this shouldn't be too difficult of a choice.
Me personally I'd probably run both days, but I'm still young and stupid.
