Re: waxing car every week
as long as your not using cleaner wax every week than your fine. cleaner wax actually removes a small layer of top coat everytime you use it. you dont really need to wax your car every week, but if your using a good wax that is making you happy with the result than have at it.

Thats a waste of time as well as waste of product. What kind of crap *** wax are you using that you have to reapply it every week?

If it keeps him in the garage and away from the wife, is it really a waste of time?

Re: waxing car every week
Waxing every week is fine, I do it sometimes 2-3 times a week. In the Winter time when it needs it, the summer time i'll wax it less often since there are less harsh elements outside. I drive my ride 365 days a year.
The reason why people may be telling you it is bad because it seals in the pqaint, which does not allow much breathebility which may lead to paint cracking, i have not have any issues. Remeber wax is a sacrificial element, it sacrifces itself so your paint does not have to. The more harsh the elements the more often to wax.
Glaze on the other hand, such as Meguiar's No.7 showcar glaze can be applied unlimited amount of times because it allows the paint to breathe, it nourishes the paint instead of sealing it in such as a wax.

Re: waxing car every week
If you have fresh paint do NOT wax your car. It will seal in all the solvents that are trying to escape through the clear. And why do you have to wax your car 2-3 times a week (Rayz SI)???????

Definatly true if the paint is new, do not wax till atleast a few months to allow the solvent to escape and paint to harden.

Re: waxing car every week
In the spring/summer/fall when my car gets driven, it gets cleaned inside/out, and waxed every friday before i leave work.
In the winter, i only bring it out on nice days (when it running, this winter it is not) and clean it up/wax it every couple of weeks.
However, i use a polish not a wax, so it doesnt seal in the paint and still allows it to breathe.

Lol tell you the honest truth, i love waxing my cars it's meditating to massage the wax into the paint and wipe i off to a flawless finish, plus the salt, sand and dirt washes off like nothing!

go to autopia and read up there absolutely no use for waxing that often.
Wax should be used to enhance the look of the vehicle not protect it. Use a sealant to protect your finish, then a caranuba wax to enhance it.
