I'm cool with that. Just want to make sure that the work isn't going to kill me $ wise.

If you want the rust patched and removed the right way epoxy and all it's not going to be cheap sorry.

Am I better off finding a donor car or having metal work done?

Suggestions?

When I looked at the car, it was really hard to tell how bad the rust was with the hatch on...

That is some serious rust in a tough spot. Did the hatch close like it should?

sand blast it weld some pieces in the big spots and fill the rest with kitty hair then sealer primer.i dont think it would take all that much time to fix it.

Yeah, closed fine. You could see some of the rust poking through, but I couldn't tell how bad it was until I removed the hatch.

If that was my car I'd put a new roof skin on it, but I also having doing skins down to a science now lol, takes me about 4-5 hours to do the whole job. I wouldn't even try to patch that up, it's just make it a mess.

I'm guessing you made time to hit up a few junk yards to get that roof? I can't find anything in my area. Is there a good online source to find something like that? Also, I'm kinda concerned with the structural integrity of the car. I'm guessing that if the welds are done right, that I'll be ok? This will be a street car only, so I won't be rocking a cage.

Just went back and read your thread Panda, you literally just replaced the top, no frames at all. Ok, cool. I went ahead and started searching for it. Sent an email to Import Auto Salvage. I've ordered OEM from then before.

How wrong is it for me to bail on the sunroof on my 95 Si hatch?

Yeah, I'm 6' and the sunroof is already pretty close as is... plus it'll probably be cheaper for the cap since there will be more avail.

Import auto salvage is a good source but try h.a.p (honda acura parts) google them they are fair as well.
