Putting some show with the go.
Dropped off the CRX at the paint shop on Monday. My sunroof was rusted, paint oxidized, dents and dings etc...
I am trying to do things right so I get a good job. I ordered a new sunroof and seal, new 1/4 window mouldings etc. The windshield is cracked so I am getting it removed before he paints it and a new one reinstalled after its done.
I went with black with a platinum pearl in the clear. The car is currently black so it shouldnt be a big deal.
The only body mod is a fiberglass ZC hood. I'll post some pics of the before and after as I get them.
If anyone has any tips, pointers or things to look out for please let me know. I didnt realize how ugly my CRX was till I went to a BOTI event and seen all the clean cars.
Cant wait!

Yeah it was starting to look pretty rough. Unlike most Honda guys I took care of all of the mechanical things first. First on the list was the swap and suspension, now its time for paint and body. The West Texas sun is hard on Paint!!

The work has started, I dropped my new lip off today to get it painted. I am still waiting on the new door moudings, window trim, sunroof panel etc... to come in. It is nice to see progress though.

Checked the progress on the car this morning and it looks like they are doing a good job. They are tearing the car completely down. All moulding trim and door handles have been removed and the bodywork looks top notch. So far so good.

The place I ordered the moulding, window trim, sunroof panel etc... are waiting for the drivers side door moulding to come in before they can ship my order. I am more than likely looking at next week till my parts come in. the bodywork however is coming along nicely!

Re: Putting some show with the go.
The body shop called me today and wanted me to come by and discuss the paintjob. The body work is mostly done and the car is in primer. They removed the hood and were about to remove the front and rear bumpers. The fiberglass hood is wavey as hell and they have quite a a bit left to do as far as the hood is concerned. He said the next step was to use a long block and do the final block sand etc... He suggested that he paint the trim on the front and rear bumpers that lines up with the center door moulding. We are getting the windshield removed tomorrow since it is cracked anyways to make it easier to paint since we are getting a new one anyways. So far the guys attention to detail is comforting.

It turns out the 1/4 windows also have to be removed because you cant install the new seal with them in. Sux!!

Windshield is removed and the painter said he would remove the 1/4 windows for free. I just have to have the glass guy install them when he does the windshield. they have a skim coat of bondo on the hood and they assure me it will look like glass when the are done. All I have is some crappy cell pics of the hood.

The car has been on hold waiting on all the parts I ordered from Majestic Honda. Their shipping is less than impressive. I supposedly finaly get all the stuff on Thursday and it will be sprayed on Friday.
