paint on the underside of the car?
i have some surface rust on the bottom of my 99 civic, i want to sand that down and spray the same sort of paint that was on there (grayish?). anyone know what to use?

i suggest using a underseal or undercoating by a company like 3m, you can buy it in a can or spray and it is like a rubberized paint that prevents rust and corrosion. there is alot of brands other then 3m that make this for pretty cheap. I use to have a jeep and this is what everyone used to prevent from frame rot and stuff like that.

Just get some rubberized spray compound. They sell it at wal mart for a couple bucks. I did my entire underneath the car with that.

the car is black, but the underbody is sprayed with what looks like primer or sealer, then undercoating in various spots. i guess its a grayish color? i'm not anywhere near the car so i can't take pics, but its the same color as behind the fender liners.
