Just wondering how much?????
How much would a paint job for an Accord V6 Coupe would cost me?
I would like to just paint the top of the car meaning, hood and just a little over the fender and doors, like an inch or two on the doors down from the side windows. Basically like that all around and on top of the car, with black paint.

Re: FV-QR (toyomatt84)
Just for the black paint part $3000? I would want just a straight line instead of those triangular shapes, and also I would leave my original silver color of the rest of the car.

Re: FV-QR (Accord-Guy)
Its just called "black top". Price is beetween $700-1000 to tape the bottom half off then all the prep and spray depending who is doing it.

There is something you do not understand about paint here. It could be done, but it wouldn't be done as you are thinking.
Are you saying the only FRESH paint on the car will be the black? You do not want whatever other color that the bottom part will be repainted?- if thats what your saying...i don't think thats the best idea especially if you have any chips or damage otherwise.
Also, whatever panel has black sprayed on it will need the ENTIRE panel clear coated. So even though you want only 1-2'' of black on the door, fender, quarter...the entire door, fender, quarter will be recleared.
If you came to our shop and got a full repaint with the bottom color repainted, the top black i would be around $3500-4000+ depending on any existing damage, to remove all glass...etc
Now if you just repaint the black part then in the area of $2000+. Best bet is to go to your local shop and get a quote. $700 is WAY WAY too cheap for anything close to that.

Re: FV-QR (swappedcx)
My current car color is really well kept there are basically no chips, or dents, but I understand what you are saying that it still would have to be clear-coated. I am going to go to a couple of shops to see what the $damage$ is going to look like.

Re: FV-QR (Accord-Guy)
p.s. It is still expensive if you think about it $3000-$4000, for a nice complete paint job. It is going to take like what one day OK 3 days tops, so how much a painter would be making for an hour??? $500-$250. That's like heart Surgeon's Salary
I know it is what it is but still, it is a little too much.

You don't have to reclear the whole panel. You just need sand it down like a regular paint job but taped off from the old(bottom). Just you can feel the clear but its not that bad. I've seen it done many times.
