how in the world do you remove the molding around the windows and re install it with out damaging it. front back and quarters? im painting my car and would rather remove it than mask it. also im painting it a dark color so it needs to be pretty straight. any one know of any good reads that actually give good advice. no just basic crap thanks

Not completely relevent, but 3m makes a masking tape that is great for "peeling back" and holding the rubber weatherstripping around windows and such.

also say if i use a kirker base coat. can i spray say ppg clear over it? both being urathane?

one more question! i have almost one gallon of base. after i mix it. think that will be enough for jambs. exterior and just under neath the hood? i already did the bay

One gallon reduced is probably alright, it depends on how good you are with the paint and the efficiency of your gun. Luckily, kirker is dirt cheap so purchasing another quart should not be a problem (in fact, i'd do it for touchups and ect anyway.)

Keep in mind, kirker "basecoat" is actually single stage paint unless you are using the blackdiamon low voc line. That being said, it MUST be activated/catalyzed to be sprayed properly. I'd go with the kirker glamour high solids clear rather than ppg clear to maximize compatibility. Southern Polyurethane is another fine brand of budget clear. You're unlikely to see much difference between kirker hi solids and a lower line ppg. All of that said, ppg is most likely fine over kirker base, just follow the p sheets for kirker base reclear time (and maybe test a small area first).

For you to install new window moldings, the PROPER way, you have to pull the glass. The molding wraps around the glass on the edges.

This is correct, however for the MAJORITY of repaints, I'd say the 3m trimback tape or whatever it is called works really well.
