How to make a copy of a urethane lip???
Ok, well i see a lot of overpriced urethane lip's for sale on the net.
Now i am wondering if it is possible to make copies of a certain lip and keep it urethane?
I have had some minor experience with two part poly urethane mixes that cure.
Now i am thinking i would need to make a mold, press the original lip in.. Then pour a 2 part polyurethane in?
Any suggestions on mold creation? And issues like what products to use and how to make sure the lip created has the correct thickness and has stable sides etc?

Re: How to make a copy of a urethane lip??? (Dxs)
Sounds like a lot of damn work to me unless you are planning on selling them to recoup the costs. If you are making some for your and a couple buddies, I would probably just buy the things on ebay or whatever.
I have tried to make some custom parts, and its the biggest pain in the *** to make the first one, so unless you plan on making some money on making more copies, I would pass.

there's alot of way to make a mold you can make a negative out of fiberglass and use that as a one off mold, it's cheap but it's messy and it needs tons of secondary process.
if you want a more accurate model of the lip, you can get it RP from a solidwork or cad file, it will not be cheap.
