For $400 that paint job aint to bad when you think about it. Considering the next up quality (well...thats actually good) is gonna cost you at least $1200+. Isn't blue kind of a thinner color? My friend had his car painted white and it looked pretty good other then them painting a lil on his tail lights and turn signals. Though taking them out before bringing it to them solves that problem.

come to think about it the coupe was actually prepped there, and looked like *** up close, i didnt even think about it, sanding marks and bondo spots showed right though with a **** tone of trash in the clear

Re: (KILLAB17VTEC)
My car was sprayed a little over 2 years ago and the paint is still holding up great with regular waxing.
This is the basic paint job they offer and i prepped the whole thing myself

- Prep your car really good.
(Which reminds me...Did you wet sand the primer?)
- Have Maaco do the paint job.
- After that take it to a GOOD paint shop and have them do 2 or 3 coats of clearcoat.
Maaco obviously has a bad rep but in all honesty they just slack on the prepping. If you make sure to go over every single thing and do it perfect when prepping then you should be ok. You also have to look at the fact that your spending a couple/few hundred bucks on a paint job when some places charge up to or past $2000/3000.

Ummmmm .....
No "GOOD" shop is going to spray ANYTHING over a maaco paint job.

You can see the old color on the inside of the fender still.

Heres a couple car I had in the past. I am still am driver the silver hathie. They were all done at maaco. I used to work there as a sander. I did my own body work. Depend which area maaco you take your car to. A lot of maaco hire bums from the street. You would be lucky if you got a guy like me. Best advice do your own prep work. Make sure to get all your edges and sand very good around moldings. Drive your car up there and take the ecu with you. Say it isnt running. They'll push the car to paint. I seen cars get race and **** token out of customers cars all the time. Couldn't figure out how to get pic on this site so here a link sorry

Re: (UPYOURZ)
macco did my prep and everything, this is 2 years old and I think I got what I paid for... it has a few runs and tiny imperfections but what do you want for a honda? a $3000 paintjob doesnt make sense on a $600 shell.

Re: all maacos werent created equally
man, it's all about the maaco u go to. my dad had dis black caddy sts, he wanted another color to chill with until he bout his jag. took it to maaco. perfect paint job, wrong color. it was supposed to b burgendy he got fire ngin red. no creepin in dis car dad. i told him leave it cause i was getting it n a couple of months. he didnt. went 2 a different maaco after sueing the first and winning, 2 get it black again. right color sh*tty job. THEY LOST DA EMBLEMS AND MADDD OVERSPRAY. DUDE HANDED ME A RAZOR 2 GET IT OFF THE CHROME. then like a week later i got the car. the hood looked as if they painted it with a plastic water color brush. this bothered me so i took my chances and went back to the first maaco. i delt with a different dude and got exactly what i wanted in 1 day.except they 4got 2 paint the grill. took it back they painted it perfect match. here's a pic

Re: (Jonathan_ED3)
My first EG was painted G66P(Barcelona Green Pear) after Mike(archidictus) and his friend did all my body work.
I really wasn't worried about the small dings and dents but it didn't turn out too bad. I paid 390 for mine. But I got mine painted when they were doing every level of paint at half cost. So they were able to sand down the quarters and then paint.
My only complaint was the over spray and run but it really didn't bother me too much.
