Getting a Maaco paint job. Pick my color.
Looking at getting:
-Mustang mineral grey
-NSX blue
-Jade green metallic
Already worked a deal out with the local Maaco just can't decide on a color, currently have the rare thunder grey.. with black rotas and 20% tint, so literally any color will look good.
Current Look:

-NSX blue
-Jade green metallic

Nah its not the single stage **** with the clear mixed in. Plus the guy is doing it under the counter so he's giving me the best **** for only $500 no tax.. fixes all dents, full color change, clear etc..
UGH this is a hard decision

single stage is not a cheap paint job as everyone assumes them to be... it can give you a show finish and lasting quality just like any other paint job that is done right.
semi-good paint (2stage) can easily cost 500bucks or more alone... and im not talkin about the full paintjob either... just the material cost
so getting a paintjob that has colorchange and fix all dents?.. makes u wonder why anyone would ever pay 2,3, or 4grand + for their paintjob.
but hey you're gettin a deal.

the paint and clear-coat for my paint job was $930, not including prep, painting, or finishing. ask your painter if you're getting p7000 series or whatever it's called, since Maaco uses SW paint. If you're not, you're f'cked, because when it starts fading or chipping within the year (i'll put money on it), you have NO warranty to fall back on...

I just went over my plan with my body guy, after new hood and fenders pulling the driver-side apron and all the body work (18hours worth) 2stage base clear/clear
I am looking at 2800 roughly for a color change on a hand painted honda del sol; this is better... considering, I wanted to shave the antenna, I now feel for 400$ it not a necessity. I may actually spring for a working antennae instead.
I feel paying 2800 or more is justified, especially given the custom built engine that resides in the engine bay, the off the shelf suspension provided by Japan rounds off the equation. I need a paint color that shows fluids and keeps the cops off my tail. Justification::Indeed

This is very true...single stages can look just as good as any dual stage or even better! I know this first hand. But its true about what they say about MACCO your car will start to peel off sooner or later....its all on their prep work. The better the do a job on the prep work the longer your paint will last. Also consider why shops charge up the ***...its because its a very long process and time consuming. Anybody in the NW hit me up...and I can work something out with you! here's some of the work i've done to mines in a back yard garage!

jade green is sechzi if you ask me... also, look for a 'One Day Paint' in your area, they gave me a 3 yr warranty on a single stage paint job for $576 after body work and tax and everything

Well to answer your original question, I think you should go with the nsx blue. I wouldn't dare paint my import a mustang color, and Jade green doesn't pop enough. But that's just me.

Have fun when that **** straight off the car. Maaco is ****... And there's no "good ****" at maaco, its all garbage that's made intended for hobby uses(model cars, rc cars, etc) I'd rather leave all the damage on my car than have maaco touch it... I just priced my PPG job for my write up, paint, reducer, clear, hardener, tinted primer and catalyst is going to run me 865 bucks... Trick is that the paint will stay on the car. But that's just my "opinion" I don't know what I'm talking about... But you shouldve just sprayed it with wal mart spray paint. Good luck though.
