Default ~Collection of what i have Painted with Rust-o-leum Paint~

1st i'd like thank -NA-aLL-thE-wAy- for approving me to make this thread.

*CRX Body & Painted Gloss White pages 3-4
*Moms EF Hatch body work and paint page 6-8, project on hold
*painted my hood/roof/trunk black, repainted it back to gray page 13
*painted cousin hatch red and then repainted Almond. page 13
*painted a friends wago gray mixed with black. page 13
*Johnny's sedan painted white page 14
*Brothers EG painted Gloss White page 16

i will be posting alot of things that i have painted since i started painting.

since Jan 07 ive read about the $50 paintjob until i actually started to attempt it.

Materials cost: $68. i did a Gloss Smoke Gray using the Roll on Technique. i did 5 coats and no sanding/buffing. took me 4 days total to paint and dry. results are very pleasing. i love it.

heres some pix.

my car prepped and my booth is setup.

smoke gray

during (my friend giving me a hand on the 1st coat. Yea kinda thick)

final product.

someone had hit my trunk after about 2 weeks being done. so i decided to sand and buff the trunk. i did a 1500g and 2000g then buff by hand cause my machine dont work at the moment. i used some polishing compounds because i didnt have rubbing (i got it now)

*******************************************

Another project i did was my Cousins 88 Civic sedan.

Material Cost: ~$17. i did Gloss Black and the results surprised me. i did NOT do the roll on technique because i had found a spray gun inside my dads cabinet. i decided lets thin the Rustoleum paint to shoot through the gun. so i used the gun after a bit of practice.

heres some seting up the booth and prep.

the final. cant wait to sand and buff the black.

*******************************************

[size=3]Next i had painted my brothers Rota MSR 16's. the previous owner of the rims had painted it Anodized red lip and white center. trust me it was a CRAPPY job. so i decided to lets recondition them.</size>

1st i had stripped the paint to the gray it was. then i had polish the lip to a mirror finish.

i sanded the lip with like 220, 400, 800, 1500, 2000 and polished with Mothers alluminum polishing compound. after so i taped the lip off and painted it with Rustoleum Gloss White. again by the gun.

*******************************************

and soon after i had painted my brother's wheels, my cousin wanted me to shoot his LS mesh white. and so i did with the left over paint i had.</size>

*******************************************

<FONT SIZE="3">picked up some 14' Enkei 92s. polished the Center face and the lip to a mirror finish. then painted the spokes gloss white/

*******************************************

my friends EK had a 00 front end that had a bumper, front and rear lip and grill all dulled out. i wanted him to ride clean so i decided to paint his body pieces Gloss Black.

*******************************************

My sisters BF had a Jasper Green DA that he had a front end wrecked on. he got a 93 front bumper and a new hood. they where primed gray and i decided to buy some PPG paint from PaintScratch.com. i painted the bumper and the hood jasper green and i did not use any clear coat. but will soon to be cleared.

*******************************************

my cousins HX where 2 powder coated white and 2 rattle canned white. it was chipped here and there. the rattle can white attracted dirt/dust faster than the powder coated rims. so we decided to sand down the rims and give it a fresh Gloss White paint.

Results.

Sale pending for $250.

*******************************************
LATEST project i just finished August 18, 2008

my cousin got bored with his Beige colored Sedan so he decided lets do a color change.

Material Cost: ~$20. He went with Rustoleum Sunrise Red. Exterior is all painted red and trims repainted black. i will later down the road do all jambs and underside of the hood and trunk. engine bay and inside of the car will remain Beige.

Before

During.

finished

Assembled. with some new rims.

I WILL BE POSTING ALLLLLLLLLL MY PROJECTS THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH PAINT AND BODY. FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANYTHING. THANKS FOR LOOKING. ALLL COMMENTS WELCOME.

hey i got a question for you-

my dad has this 1990 lexus es250-

its black but it needs a repaint beause of rust and what not-

its just used as a work car during the day and thats it-

i was trying to convince him to paint it white upper/ tan beige lower like some lexus's are painted-

do you think it could come out alright in this color scheme with a wagner paint sprayer with thinned out rustoleum paint?

are you just wanting the chrome lip? tape off the rim where you dont wanna scratch. i started sanding the lip or any part that is gonna be polished with 150grits. but if you dont have deep scratches and its a smooth surface already start with like 220g, 380g i think it is, 400g and i went ahead and start with the 1500 and 2000g. then use an applicator pad to apply Mothers aluminum compound and rub evenly throughout sanded area. sanding and masking goes the same if you was to paint the inner rims. for the H center cap i painted the cap what ever color is suppose to be, let it dry completely, then mask the cap off and cut the H out with a razor pen. spray away. once dry take the masking off and clear it.

any pix of how this color scheme looks like? and im sure the wagner gun would put better results than my unknown brand gun. if paint is mixed correctly it should be fine. be sure to spray some other things before doing the car. GL

if i have some spare money i would just buy alot of different colors and see how they come out. i will be spraying the paint because i have the equipments and its a faster step than the rolling on. but i didnt have the stuff i'd be rolling.
