Need help please 98 blazer
My mom has a 98 blazer that has issues. She had drove it to work one day and it wouldn't start so they had the truck towed and a fuel pump at that time was installed truck started running a lil funny. Then all of the sudden after about a day it started running rough has bad throttle response and drips black tar looking stuff out of the tailpipe. So we had put on a new cataltic converter. Now the truck is still running rough it still dripping out black tare and engine light blinks when it runs. The truck drives just not very well please help me THANK YOU

O ya and i also took it AAMCO for diagnostics and they said the alternator isn't pushing enough power to charge battery and control the fuel injector. So i have replaced the altenrator still having the same issue.

4.3 right?
check the fuel pressure at the rail. that motor needs a MINIMUM of 58psi with key on engine off to start. If they replaced the pump already, then the regulator is the likely culprit. I don't know the full pressure specs off the top of my head but I'll check them later. that motor wants a LOT of pressure and it runs like **** if at all when it doesn't get it.
check your vac lines, EGR valve, fuel filter. Also the spider injectors that GM used were ****, seafoam it.
Oh and has she done the lower intake manifold gaskets yet? is she still running dexcool? What does the coolant look like?
