My Daily: 08 Suzuki Sx4 Build Thread (Tons of Pics, low bandwidth warning)
Hey guys, i bought this deep sea blue 08 Suzuki AWD Sx4 Touring II package brand new in may this year. I have about 11k miles on it now and i will say i like it alot so far. It really reminds me of a 1st generation CRV. So far it has been cheap, reliable and pretty fun. Here are some pics starting from the day i got it:
Then i got it tinted to get rid of that "spaceship look":
Next i got new pedals, an armrest and sunglass holder. After wash pics:
After that i added some more oem parts and took it for a rally-x:
Here are the mods thus far:
Tint
HK Raised lettering Mudflaps
HK Sunglass Holder
OEM Exhaust Tip
OEM rear hatch guard
OEM Window Visors
OEM Carbon Dash Kit
OEM Carbon Side steps
OEM Aluminum Pedals
Greddy / Trust shift **** (Custom Al grommet)
Royal Purple Engine oil & rear diff. fluid
RRM Cold Air Intake
Comments & opinions welcome

Correct. You can switch between FWD, AWD 40%, and AWD 40% lock. The lock disengages after 39mpg IIRC... The WRC car has a straight AWD trans diff setup and is turbo charged. But it is 100% made in japan as a suzuki, unlike some of the rebadged suzukis/kia's of the past couple years.

No, they must be imported from japan for a premium They do make some pretty cool parts though, Fujitisu makes 2 different exhausts for it

Yup, Roadrace motorsports makes a kit. There is also a canadian company that makes kit. Both are ludicriously priced at about 5K$, which is more than 25% of the total car purchase ... plus you would probably void the 100k miles warranty.
Not all of them are AWD, the sedans are not, and not all crossovers are AWD. Thanks for the words so far guys

The SX4 sport is hella fun for like $16k.
I really like Suzuki's cars in general, too bad we never got the Cappuccino (EA11/EA21)
You can get an SX4 sport with Nav now for the same $16k. 5spd, handles well, fun to drive, nice warranty, etc, for the same as a Fit Sport.
I wish they'd sell the Wagon R here.
EDIT: ThirtyNine, if that white Yaris with the orange rollers is yours in the blog, that looks very cool.

Yup I considered the Fit, scion xA, versa, yaris, etc... as well as the new WRX. I wanted AWD but just couldnt spring the extra dough for the suby. Thanks.

HAHA, that would have been nice to know a little earlier. As im sure you know there are quite a few oem accessories on it...

I had orignally intended on getting air-ride or a lift kit, however i would like to remain in the stock rallyx class (SA: Stock AWD). I will probably get a set of summer wheels though

Re: My Daily: 08 Suzuki Sx4 Build Thread (Chronicsinners)
yay, SUZUKI!
i have an Aerio that i bought new in 06, put 63,000 miles on it already, and not a single thing has gone wrong with it. like you mentioned, the REAL Suzukis are truly trouble free, and their fit and finish is top notch for its class!
enjoy yours i'm jealous of the aftermarket support for the SX4s, i'm lucky to even have springs and a drop-in filter!

Re: My Daily: 08 Suzuki Sx4 Build Thread (Thirty-Nine)
yeah, sx4club.com is the best forum for sx4's.... so far
Real world mpg, I have consistently get around 27-29 MPG, a true mix of city and highway. I have put 12k miles on mine since may and it has twice been higher than 30MPG, otherwise in the high 20's. Not quite as good as a fit, but is bigger, awd, and brakes better
I like it alot so far
