I feel like they took styling cues from every popular japanese sports car on the market, but I want one soooo bad.

Looks nice! It's too bad that Honda doesn't have a response for this car. A cheaper version of the S2000 would work for that.

Agreed, looks like a Frankenstein of everything else that's out there. Definitely not impressed.

I don't care about how it looks. It is RWD, lightweight, and supposedly the pricing will start in the low 20k dollar range. That is tough to beat, and there really isn't really any competition at that price for a lightweight rear wheel drive car.

You can get a cheap 240 and put that kind of money in to it and it will be relatively the same thing and will look a lot better, IMO. I just don't like the styling of it, looks like a CF of every other Japanese made sports car offered today.

Are you telling me that you don't think that it is impressive that they are taking that chance? So what if it looks like many other cars?

You are going to have search far and wide to find an earlier model Nissan 240 that isn't completely trashed. If you manage to locate one, are you telling me you would want to spend 20k dollars to fix up a 15 year old car?

Look how long it has been since the Nissan 240 has been imported to this country. That is why it is cool that they are taking a chance and offering a low priced, lightweight RWD car.

But it's this G Sport Concept that I was initially referring to. The specs sound nice, but the car looks like generic crap to me.

Why not get an S14 for just a few more grand so you get a car that isn't as trashed? I'm not saying I would want to put $20,000 into an old car rather than just buy a brand new one, but it's not like they're aren't options out there for a RWD sports car under $20,000. Sure you won't have as nice of performance but it's still a RWD sports car that you can turn in to something you like rather than take what the manufacturer gives you.

Here's a neat new GPS based technology that'll be in this car:

This system where you can only view it on a PlayStation seems a little too gimmicky. Although the ability to actually view your car as it drove the lap is kind of cool.

Looks like the LF-A and GTR had a cheap love child that they gave up for adoption.

Let's see.... The awful sound of a subie, the blandness of a Toyota and the looks of a Hyundai genesis. Yup sign me up for the future corolla.

Yeah it is pretty cool. Although there was barely any "data" present except for the speed and the timer. It looks like the only data it actually provided was the GPS coordinates in respect to time. Then the Grand Turismo game just ran through its normal replay mode using the GPS coordinates to figure out where to place the car on the track. From that it could also calculate the speed. However, notice that was the only data that was displayed.
If you went with one of the Data Acquisition systems for racing, like a MyChron, for about 400 bucks you would be able to download all of this, plus a huge amount of other data. So if they (Toyota and Sony) can do this, it probably won't be long until some guy writes an open source patch for one of the popular PC racing simulator games. Then you could download the data from your GPS data acquisition system to the PC, and the game could also render a replay of the lap(s) as driven.

These are the types of data acquisition systems I was talking about.

Most of them except the older models have the GPS feature.
