Quick question for anyone knowledgeable with HDS or how to verify an odometer reading. Working with a 2012 Odyssey

FWIW, please spare me any flames for about asking for odometer info. I'm not looking for info on how to reprogram, what I'm looking for is forensic info to foil these A-holes and maybe send them to jail. Security by obscurity is no security at all - hiding this info helps no one but the crooks. Any criminal with an IQ high enough to use Google can find the info they need to fraudulently alter an odometer in most modern cars in a matter of minutes. I'm hoping Honda has checks and balances in place to detect this type of fraud if it does occur.

The problem I am running into is Lazy/unknowledgeable service techs patronizing me with "Oh, it's really hard to falsify odometers in today's vehicles" - which is a load of crap.

I do know some vehicles have read only counters, reprogram counters, or other checks and balances to help identify that something like the odometer has been tampered with. I'm hoping to go to the dealer armed with specific info so that it if is possible to at least interrogate the PCM for useful info, I can pressure them to do it.

FWIW, I bought a 2010 Porsche a while back and got a probably 100 or more page printout of detailed info within the PCM, including rev-limit hits, severity, and duration - it was very enlightening and invaluable if you were going to purchase a used one. I'm hoping Honda might be able to do something similar if I let them know that I know it can be done.
