Default A Different Kind Of Noise From A CRV (please help, searched)

Ok, so before anyone says it's rear diff fluid I just want to know for sure!

The car is an 06 CRV auto and it's NOT a 4wd. I've put 25k soft miles on the car so far.

Here's the problem:

My car makes a "clunk" or "clink" noise accompanied by a "ping" or "knock" feeling in the floorboard when doing the following:
Making a tight turn into a parking space in either Drive or Reverse, but it also occurs occasionally under full throttle acceleration from a dead stop, and on occasions when hard braking is applied.

Ok, now here's the difference between my problem and everyone elses "CRV Noise Problem" that I've searched. Everyone else with bad differential fluid claims to hear a whining, or rubbing noise when making a tight turn.

Now when I'm doing all the things listed above, a "clunk" noise can be heard at the front of the car and at the very same time, a "ping" can be felt in the front passengerside floorboard. If anyone has ever kicked up a small rock or soda can under their car from the road while driving, it feels much the same way, just like a "ping" in the floorboard.

Everyone else's problem I've read about so far doesn't describe a "ping" or "knock" feeling in the floor board accompanied by a "clunk" noise. I know noise is common in the CRV when the diff fluid is bad, low or overheated, but this?? Can anyone help me here? Can it be an extreme case of bad/low diff fluid? Cheers!

I can't exactly help, but it's got to be something rotating like an axle or driveshaft with a universal type joint.

Its probally in the suspension. Very common for spring to perch to make a popping or clank noise if not assembled correctly. The spring is shifting causing the noise. If its more obvious when doing slow turns, left or right, then thats your problem. Its under factory warranty,so let the dealer worry about it.

Thanks for the info man , I'll have them look at it this weekend and change the diff fluid anyways since its due. So we'll see if that's the problem.

I have a 2000 SE, that made the same kind of sound . First dose it sound like the front or rear? Mine was the front and it was a ball joint going out in the front drivers side. But like IMALLSLO said, its under warranty let Honda take care of it.

My Crv's been at Honda since Saturday! I drove it for a tech so he could hear the noise and he couldn't figure it out. So they said they were going to have to put some microphones in there to pin point the noise. But it's already Wednesday and they still haven't been able to diagnose. WTF? The cool thing is that while I'm waiting they hooked it up with an 07 Accord loaner car.

Ok, finally got it back. It was some kind of problem with the brake caliper, the ping noise was actually the brake pad not seating correctly, I don't know too much because the techs wouldn't specify what causes it or how or why it would happen... really strange. In addition to that they said the paperwork still isn't done yet because they have to see who's going to pay for what and then they'll mail it to me. Either way I'm good, no money outta my pockets.

Kinda odd but glad you got it fixed. Pad shift is normal but your noise was when turning not when braking. Anyways, glad they found it.
