1999 Honda CRV flashing check engine light with 25PSI in cylinder #1
I have 1999 Honda CRV have flashing check engine light. Checked compression on cylinder #1 it only have 25PSI. the car have 120k. Any one can help me what option I have with engine? I went a place they told me they can rebuild top of the engine for $1000. Is this a good thing to do with the car. Thanks a lot for any help.

In a Junkyard near you.
Honda has a service bulliten for this. The exhaust valves in #1 have recessed into the head causing them not to close propperly.
You need to replace the head and valves.
If you wish to sell it let me know.

i have done a few of these at the shop and have found that you can usually just do a valve job and replace 1 or 2 valves and you will be fine ... i have never changed the head ...
