F/S 94 Civic EX coupe with B18c!
INTRO/BACKGROUND:
Hi everybody ny name is Stephen. I purchased this car in 2007 at a local dealership in WA. I was looking for a second reliable car as a DD since I wanted to keep the miles low on my sti and motorcycle. The car was pretty much stock except for the stereo and alarm. I usually drove this car to work and she never once broke down on me. This is my 3rd Honda and I always treat my cars as if I will keep them forever. I just moved to Florida and picked up a Type R which is why im selling. Car is located in Lynnwood, WA and I can answer all your questions and have a friend or my Dad let you see/test drive it. After the sell I am always available to answer any other questions that come up. I always like to keep track and see what direction a new owner takes my car. To date I have owned a 00 Prelude, 95 GSR turbo, 04 WRX, 06 Sti, 99 Mustang, crotch rocket, and now a Type R so you can see I have owned a good amount of vehicles and have experience buying, selling, and working on these cars.
Car: $4900
-94 Civic EX coupe
-175,000 miles on chassis
-Power windows, locks, and moonroof! Has all factory options for that year minus ABS and A/C.
-Comes with original owners manual!
Motor:
-JDM GSR engine from hmotorsonline.com. Only put on 5,000 miles since swap. Engine runs super good.
-AEM short ram INTAKE, DC Sports HEADER, Apexi WS2 EXHAUST (super quiet I love this exhaust!)
-Full tune up conducted prior to putting in motor. New timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, tranny fluid, LSD fluid, etc. Over $400 in parts alone at DEALER cost. I have the receipt for this. This motor can probably go another 100k without another tune up! I took my time to make sure this motor would last and not have any issues. This is not the case where some kid picked up a motor from the junkyard or his "buddy" and just slapped it inside the car instead of doing it the right way and replacing all the normal wear and tear items which is easier and cheaper to do with the motor out of the car. HAVE RECEIPT FOR THIS
-OEM LSD since JDM GSR trannies came with them
-New battery
Suspension:
-TEIN Basic Coilovers. Very high quality and comfortable. Perfect for the street! Also had the car professionally aligned when the coilovers were installed.
-Si wheels with new Falken tires. Only about 5000 miles on them.
Brakes:
-Stock. I think they have been replaced at some point prior because they are in exellent condition. No hissing or hesitation. I flushed the brake fluid a few months ago and it feels even better.
Ice:
-Alpine CD/MP3 player
-Alpine Type-R speakers in back and Pioneers in front.
Security:
-Autopage alarm
-Ignition cut-out switch, hidden
-Auto-lock used for locking clutch
Issues:
- Dash lights sometimes go off. It will sometimes come back on if you tap at the dash light brightness switch. I think there is a relay in there that is bad or the leads are not touching. Search H-T not too uncommon with EG/EJ1
- The CEL sometimes comes on when you hit about 7000 RPM. It always goes away when you turn off the car so if you arent mashing around town youll never even notice it. I never noticed any driveability/performance difference. Its probably something like an 02 sensor, knock sensor, or something along those lines i think.
- One of the Si wheels the clear coat is kind of faded.
- The driver side window there is a minor scuff mark. I actually thought it was window sticker residue but when I went to get it detailed the detailer told me it was a scratch/scuff.
- The passenger side window is slow to come up.
- 3rd gear sometimes grinds a little. Pretty normal with any B series tranny these days even on my Type R.
- Passenger side seat belt has some fraying.
- Passenger side front fender is missing side molding. Can see this in one of the pics
CONCLUSION:
So I have tried to be as detailed as possible. My goal is not only to sell the vehicle but to make sure the new owner is aware of all the flaws as I am. These flaws are all minor and do not effect the driveability or performance. I would even say some people would not notice some of these things on a test drive which is why I am pointing them out. I always find it annoying when you go look at a car and the owner failed to disclose some obvious flaws especially if you traveled a long way and I guranteed its happened to all of you.
With that being said I would not hesitate in this car's mechanical ability to drive cross-country if need be. This car was well taken care of and only quality parts and labor were put in. Its getting rare to find a clean, good condition EJ1. If you can find another clean, well taken care, tastefully modified EJ1 for a similiar price dont hesitate and buy it because I know these are hard to find!
