1983 Kawasaki KZ550 LTD (only 9,318 miles!) - $1899

1983 Kawasaki KZ500 LTD
Engine: 550cc air-cooled inline-four cylinder engine (produces 54hp)
Transmission: Close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission
Mileage: 9,318 (that's right, under ten-thousand miles!)
Price: $1,899 obo
Title in hand, and comes with two sets of keys
Located in Owings Mills, MD (about 25 minutes north west of Baltimore)
Recent maintenance includes: new tires (front and rear), oil and filter change, chain and sprockets replaced. This bike is good to go! I also have new spark plugs, air filter and some other maintenance items that I can include if the asking price is met.

I bought the bike from the second owner, who bought it from the original owner after he got out of the Navy about twenty years ago. The bike was always hooked up to a battery tender and was ridden occasionally, but was not ridden as much as the previous owner's other bikes (a Ducati and a Harley). Since this was his first bike, he couldn't bare letting it go with such low mileage. Being a good friend of the owner, he agreed to sell it only if I took care of it like he did, but I'd also have to give the opportunity first to buy it back when the time came to sell it.
Gas mileage is fantastic, last tank I got 53mpg! This bike gets up and goes with it's quick-revving engine and close-ratio 6-speed transmission; more than enough power to get you around traffic but not too much that it's easy to get in trouble with. This makes a great beginner bike; easy to handle, comfortable and just enough power to get around in traffic without being a handful.
Condition:
The bike is in decent condition for it's age. Gas tank has some scratches and minor dent or two, but that's about it. The bike was always warmed up before being ridden and it's had the oil/filter changed every year even though I've only averaged about one thousand miles a year on it. The chain has been cleaned/lubed/adjusted regularly, along with the clutch and throttle cables. The bike has been regularly washed and washed when it was ridden. Over the winter it goes up on it's center stand to take the weight off of the rear tire so it doesn't flat-spot.
All lights and indicators work as they should. Even the self-cancelling turn signals still work after 30 years!
Additional info:
We all know motorcycles are fast, but that's no excuse to drive like a moron. This is now my sixth motorcycle and it wasn't treated like a prom date or a booty call. With that said, I will NOT allow test drives without cash in hand because I cannot risk the bike being dropped or damaged and not being compensated for it.
