would it be possible for you to make one that just bolts on like the glass and still can be opened? I know HT member Doctor Cortez made some like that but I don't know if he still does.

I can't answer for Adam, but I don't see why not. It would require some custom work I'm sure.

Sure we can do that if you want to send me your roof I would be happy to quote something like that. We could build a mold and then the part that replaces the glass. Yah I remember 3-4 years ago when he was building those. Our product has a completely different purpose and design than the panels he was building back then. The main reason we started offering sunroof plug kits is to drop weight. If you just replace the panel you barely drop any weight but still get to use your sunroof. The majority of the weight in a sunroof is in the track system and not the glass. I understand some people want to retain their roof and don't care about weight reduction. Some just like the look of cf or they have a rusty factory unit. That type of part serves the replacement segment and not the performance/weight reduction segment. The kits we offer are designed to help you go faster and they just happen to look cool.

This is probably the number one most asked question over the years and we may build that type of thing later on but I am way more interested in offering parts that help your car go faster. From the inception of the brand "LighterFaster" I wanted to make parts that do exactly that, if a product can't do that I don't want to sell or build it under that brand name. Now custom stuff is a different issue entirely, if someone wants something built custom and is willing to pay for it I don't ever ask why they want it I just ask them what they want and quote them a price. I just wanted to explain where the brand is headed and why we don't offer the product you are asking about.

I would like to lose a little weight, and I don't like having the sun blaring in when the roof is cracked open, as well as paint it. I'll have to get back to you on that as I was just curious and stumbled on this thread.

Thanks though

I lost a pound this week! Thanks Adam. Telling me I'm a fat *** was the best thing ever. Plus it was free.

You mean the headliner inside the car right? I haven't done that but nothing to do with the kit would interfere with doing that. From all the different cars I have seen I am 99% sure you could make this work.

98 Accord? I suppose I'd have to remove it first and take measurments for ya but its not a factory part, dealer installed option.

You'd have to send me a template and pics for that one for sure. Even if I had the factory template you never can tell what size and shape the aftermarket units are. There is a how to for custom kits on our website that explains how to pull a template easily. We have built custom kits for Audi, Nissan, and Fords to this point.
