Re: Alright midwest! Whose the best SHOP to get your car tuned at??
I First started going to ill garage for help on my greddy turbo kit three years ago.I live in South Bend over 80 miles away and because of their incredible know-how and really good prices, I still make the drive every four months to get work done by these guys. Extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. best in the midwest.

Exactly what this guy said!!
Profunction hands down. Their work speaks for it's self.
If you want actual performance and knowledge, they are the ones to go with in my opinion. Everyone who works there are very knowledgeable from engine teardown to electrical issues. They are not about the glammer of form, it's all about function there. I have seen personally cars that were tuned else where and end up at profunction to get tuned correctly (I lost count). Mikey is very knowledgable and his information makes sense on regards to tuning and theory with no bullshit involved. If you have a honda and want to get your car tuned or get worked in the chicagoland area, it be foolish to go else where.
If you want to get flashy, sparkly, glittery stickers and information in how to make your car really jdm for those hard parking events go else where.
If if you want modifications regarding real functions of your vehicle and tuning with no bullshit, Profunction is your stop.
May sound like a biased post, just read the other posts.

Only the shop owners in Chicago-land truly know where than stand on the list of "the best shop around". Joe blow who bough a shift **** and a sticker from "X" shop cant really gauge this lol.

Re: Alright midwest! Whose the best SHOP to get your car tuned at??
When it comes to tuning, we are all trying to do the same thing here; Make sure the A/F mixture is where it's supposed to be at all the way across and adjust timing until you find the sweet spot without detonation. The result of our work ends with Horsepower and torque gains. However, We all have our own way of doing it...
Some of us don't get to choose the cars we want to tune half of the time. Not to mention the issues people expect you to fix with a "tune". If you tune a car on the safe side, so it doesn't blow up on the customer, then take it to another shop and they lean it out to make 10 more HP... your tune sucks. If you tune a car on 100 oct. and the customer puts 87 because he was broke that week, and the car blows up... They Blew up my car.
Who's the best tuner?? Seriously?? To you it might be Mando, because he made your car run 10's, To someone else it might be Mikey because your All-Motor car is faster than most turbo Civics in Chicago, or maybe it's me because I made your Ebay Turbo Kit push 350WHP on a stock GSR ... The only way to find the answer to this question is to have all the tuners, in the same building, using the same Dyno, tuning the same car with the same exact Engine management... Pick a car or two, pick a date, and have the top three or four guys on this pole come to my Dyno and tune the same car, on the same conditions. I Guarantee you the numbers will not be more than 5hp apart from each other... Or I can find like 60 or 70 of my friends to log on and Vote For Pedro... lol

Nutswingers? I guess shops with the most votes don't know what they are doing and just know how to deceive the customer to keep them from coming back.
